| WHAT'S A NURREDIN? (NOOR-ED-DEEN)If you take the artistry of Stevie Wonder, the avant-garde cutting edge musicianship of Miles Davis, the suave sophistication of Sade, and the confident cockiness of Muhammad Ali,throw them into a blender, and you'll come up with the tasty entree that is NURREDIN. Born in the small town of Msila, Algeria to an Algerian army colonel and a Spanish educator,NURREDIN has created a musical style that is a blend of Algerian Rai,Jazz and R&B that is known as "VEGAS HOUSE", or "VEE-BOPP". The grandson of Flamenco guitarist Juan Carlos Depareja and Jewish folk singer Esther Rabinowitz, NURREDIN was introduced to many styles of music at an early age. Raised in Winchester, KY and Dayton, OH, NURREDIN was a stockbroker for Fidelity Investments by day and entertainer by night at the riverboat casinos in Indiana where he honed his craft. Originally signed to Roger Troutman's Troutman Brother's Records, the association ended with Roger's tragic death in 1999. NURREDIN packed up his brokerage licenses and his recording studio to Las Vegas, where he started VEGAS FLAVA ENTERTAINMENT. He perfected his vision of melding different styles of music and the result is his first release, "UNAPOLOGETIC SOUL". On it, he utilizes the genius of MAXWELL, TAKE6, and keeps the memory of Roger alive with the song they co-wrote, "I CAN'T PAY MY BILLS". A multi talented instrumentalist and vocalist, NURREDIN plays all the instruments and does all the vocals with the exception of TAKE6's backing vocals on "CAIN'T NOBODY".
