About Me

Welcome to Sojourneer TM

Beethoven's Adagio Cantabile and Debussy's Claire de Lune are two of Vivienne's favorite piano pieces. She has enjoyed playing them for over 30 years, and recently recorded two performances to share with you here.
I Still Can’t Say Goodbye is an incredible song written by Robert Blinn and Jimmy Moore in 1983, and first published by Chet Atkins in 1987. It was Chet’s signature song for many years; however, the first time we heard it was at a Tommy Emmanuel appearance in Redwood City, CA. There wasn't a dry eye in the room when Tommy finished.
In Sojourneer’s rendition, Vivienne Powell plays an original piano arrangement by Robert Powell. Her performance is tender and heartfelt; almost as if she were playing it to honor her own Father -- who is still with us, thank goodness. Robert is on guitar and vocals.

Remember that Day is about the precious memories Robert has of the first moments together with his daughter.
“. . .I remember searching in my daughters eyes for a sign telling me that she knew I was her daddy, and that I would always be there for her . . . and then it happened. Our eyes met, and as if in slow motion, I watched as this incredibly beautiful smile blossomed on her face. At that moment I could feel her tender heart reach out and touch mine. I knew it was a moment we both would share forever." R.P.

This song would add a unique and memorable final touch to a perfect wedding day. The father-of-the-bride with his daughter reminiscing about the past and creating a new memory for the future.

Dream Pony, is another original composition written and performed by Robert Powell (with his wife in the background on accordion!). This song was written for their daughter when she was much younger and often had difficulty sleeping. Bob wove in guided imagery of a beloved figure, a pony, being there to help her through the night. Another layer to the piece has to do with her adoption, as she searches her subconscious mind for answers about her birth parents. As an adoptive parent, supporting this search, Bob asks the question “when the answers come, will I be there too?”

We hope you enjoy the songs!
