We are delighted to announce the purchase of our first outreach bus on Thursday the 19th of June. The bus is wheelchair accessible so it can service all our Veterans. We will be outfitting the bus with laptops so Veterans can access the vital resources they need. We are in negotiations with two wireless providers to secure cell phone and internet services. We hope to have negotiations completed before the bus goes into service on it's inaugural July 4th run.

Give them a call and ask about their Veterans discount. 775/359-0880_____________________________________Green Army Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting our disabled veterans help themselves. These defenders of our society need security themselves, but for too many of them the transition to civilian life has been more than problematic. Our disabled veterans are saddled with many stigmas that make prospective employers hesitant to provide work opportunities, and the consequences are evident. In Nevada and California, for example, the unemployment and homeless rates for veterans are significantly higher than the general population in these areas. Even more alarming is the veteran suicide rate in our country: nearly double that of the population as a whole on a daily basis, and significantly higher than that on a yearly basis. These statistics can be seen as a disturbing indicator of the underlying challenges and obstacles our disabled veterans have faced and continue to face in their struggle to transition to civilian life...productive, independent life with dignity, in the country they defended. The Green Army Foundation, through established partnerships with local veterans organizations, is working to provide enabling resources to our veterans: computer access for online education/training programs and individual e-mail addresses for job search and placement; funds for transportation and communal housing, employment in partnered community projects, and assistance in grant procurement for green energy businesses who support veteran employment. But even with the help of local organizations, directed grants that translate into disabled veteran employment and housing, and funds generated from benefits by friends of U Rock On and other events, even with this help...The Green Army Foundation, our disabled veterans, still need the help of individuals like yourself. 775-622-1757 9-5 mon. thru fri.
