Music:What's your band name?Trey Jewell Why this name? I'm fronting the band and it's what everyone calls me. Do you play live? Yes. I play the Nashville scene Tootsie's, The Nashville Palace, The Preston, etc... How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? I don't think, I know, that mp3's are a double edged sword. On one hand it's making music easy to access, easy to buy, easy to advertise. On the other hand it's making the music industry die out. Alot of people out there don't realize (or just flat out dont care) that illegal downloads are seriously damaging the industry. When you go out and buy a CD that 10-15 dollars doesnt all go into the big record label's pocket, it goes in percentages to the songwriter, the vocalist, the publisher, and a few other places too. I'm sure the majority of the "Music Pirates" just flat out don't care, but think of it this way, it would be like me walking into where you work picking up your paycheck and walking out with the money you need to pay for your car/house/food/family/ well you get the idea. I'm not out to make a million dollars in music. If I do that's great, but that's not why I do it. What I am out to do is make a living like anybody else. Cause music is work. No matter what anybody else ever tells you music is a job. It aint easy, and it sure as hell aint free. Would you still sign a record contract with a major label? Working on that at the moment actually Band History: Started writing back in 2001. Played around Memphis for 5 years and then made a trip up to Nashville for a couple of weeks. Met the right people and well now we're close to finishing the first CD with some of the guys from the Muzik Mafia and close to getting a major record deal. Your influences? My Dad (Wendell Jewell), Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Big & Rich, Chance, too many to name em all really. Favorite spot? In the pasture with the horses. Equipment used? Mic: SM58 Mixer: a yamaha somethin or other Software: Sony Vegas Studio Monitors: Peavey speakers Anything else...? The CD hits sometime this fall.
