| Prison Flag was born in late 1998, in the world heritage village of Sintra. Peter S.T. Miller and Charlie in the vocals, Ozkar and Figaz on guitar, Diabo Jr. on bass, Master X on keyboards and samplers and Skinny on drums form one of the most new exciting Portuguese metal acts. As a band they have only one objective and one reality: music as a form of expression themselves. After several years of hard work, two demos, gigs all around the country, they’ve recorded a promo track called Mí Dolor (Vida de Sangre). That song was a blast throughout the Portuguese music scene. The Mí Dolor video airplays in Sic Radical, Sol Musica, RTP N and MTV Portugal and get the attention from some labels, that’s when Ethereal Sound Works came up with a two record deal. After signing with Ethereal Sound Works all efforts was directed to the debut album (Misplaced). In 2005 Prison Flag hit the Rec N’ Roll Studio to record 13 songs with Rui Danin (Pitch Black), Paulo Barros and Luís Barros (Tarantula). The album was mastered by Tommy Newton, known for his work with Guano Apes, Scorpions, Helloween, etc. Prison Flag sound is a design of darkness and light, love and hate, aggressive moments painted with melodic ambiences rarely found in this genre. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------- Os Prison Flag nasceram em finais de 1998 na vila de Sintra. Peter S.T. Miller e Charlie nas vozes, Ozkar e Figaz nas guitarras, Diabo Jr. no baixo, Master X nos teclados e samplers e Skinny na bateria formam hoje um das maiores “esperanças” do panorama metal de Portugal. Depois de vários anos de trabalho, duas demos, bastantes concertos em todo o país, os Prison Flag gravam a promo track Mí Dolor (Vida de Sangre). A música cria de imediato um impacto bastante forte no panorama underground português. O vídeo roda na Sic Radical, Sol Musica, RTPN e MTV Portugal, e acaba por cativar o interesse de várias editoras, e é ai que surge a Ethereal Sound Works com uma proposta que agrada à banda e os Prison Flag assinam um contrato de dois discos. Depois de assinarem com a Ethereal Sound Works a banda concentra todos os esforços no seu álbum de estreia (Misplaced), e em 2005 entra no Rec N’ Roll Studio para gravar 13 temas com Rui (FAZER!!!) Danin (Pitch Black), Paulo Barros e Luís Barros (Tarantula). O álbum acaba por ser materizado po Tommy Newton, conhecido pelo seu trabalho com os Guano Apes, Scorpions, Helloween, etc. O som dos Prison Flag é uma “porta” entre a escuridão e a luz, entre o amor e ódio, agrupando momentos agressivos pintados por ambiências e partes melódicas, o que não é comum encontrar-se neste tipo de música.
