Como México-Americana de primera generación, Mayra creció escuchando a música en inglés y español. De niña Mayra escuchaba la música de Los Tigres del Norte, Ramón Ayala, Selena, Intocable, Vicente Fernández, Limite y muchos más artistas norteños, mariachis y tejanos. Mayra también fue inspirada por cantantes como Mariah Carey y Boyz II Men. Mayra comenzó a cantar con su coro escolar desde la primaria hasta la secundaria. Decidió que el canto era su pasión después de cantar “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” en un espectáculo de talentos. Desde entonces Mayra ha tomado cada oportunidad que le ha llegado para cantar. Mayra ha cantado por todo Texas en lugares incluyendo La Competencia de Mariachi Vargas en San Antonio, el Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, el Centro de Convenciones George R. Brown, el Festival Internacional de Houston, el Fan Fair de los Premios Tejano y el Reliant Center. A Mayra le encanta cantar de todo desde canciones de estilo mariachi, gruperas y pop. Con una voz lista de ser escuchada y la personalidad para ganar el público, Mayra está preparada y determinada a conquistar el mundo. Mayra Bazán was born and raised in Houston, Texas to Mexican parents. As a first generation Mexican American, Mayra grew up listening to music both in English and in Spanish. Growing up Mayra listened to Los Tigres del Norte, Ramón Ayala, Selena, Intocable, Vicente Fernández, Limite and many other Norteño, Mariachi and Tejano artists. Mayra also became influenced by artists such as Mariah Carey and Boys II Men. Mayra began singing with her school choir from elementary through high school. She decided singing was her passion after entering a school talent show and singing “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” to the crowd. Ever since then Mayra has taken every opportunity to sing. Mayra has sung all across Texas including The Mariachi Vargas Competition in San Antonio, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The George R. Brown Convention Center, The Houston International Festival, The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair and the Reliant Center. Mayra loves to sing everything from Mariachi songs, gruperas and pop.
