| real editor best profile tools East Meets West. Part 1Mister K a.k.a. A1: This Hip Hop, Pop Funk producer/songwriter hails from Brooklyn, New York. He keeps a low profile and stays out of the lime light. When I had, asked him why? He said " It's not about me but it's about the artist I produce or write for "I guess you can say I'm like Batman. Everybody knows him but they don't know the man." He laughs. He has produce tracks for Tupac which was to be recorded when he arrived from that ill fated trip to Vegas. One of the tunes was being produce with the help of Roger Troutman of Zap. I still have the tracks if I could find the right rapper . . . When I ask him to name five things he was most proud of, he said two he wouldn't talk about right now but that there was a person who made the number two spot and that was his friend in the acting business. "I remember sitting in his trailer one day." He recalls. And we were invited to go to lunch with this other star and he said no but in a polite way and said I could go if I wanted to have lunch. I said no thank you. Now granted she was prettier (laughing) but he in a lot of ways was like me. Focus and this was confirmed by what he said. What was that? I asked. He said and these aren't the exact words but basically he was saying that, while holding a book. I can go to Lunch anytime I don't have time for that right now I want to make it in this business. When I saw the look in his eyes and on his face I knew he would make it. I admire him and have love for him like a brother. We lost contact because of certain people. Who? I asked I won't say, let's just say people for whatever reasons get jealous and then he moved. I heard he is doing quite well and at the time didn't realize some of the movies he had done because of things going on in my private life. I ask him what that was and he promise me he would tell me later. So I ask him who this person was and it took a couple of times to get him to tell me but he did. So who is this man that he has much respect for and praise for? Terrence, Terrence Howard he says. He's down to earth and one of the . . . well besides me. One of the nicest guys in this business and what you see is what you get.After talking with Mister K a.k.a. A1; I came away with the impression that here was a man 6' 4" 230 lbs give or take a few (Yes ladies Tall Dark and handsome and didn't like taking pictures.) Who was honest, sincere and loves what he does. Deep sexy voice and gives you that look in his eyes I had to catch myself a couple of times. Talented, handsome, down to earth respectful and he even open the door and pull my chair out!The Music: The music is very interesting, a lot of different textures and beats which he does all himself, no samples here. "From Bach to Rock" as he says. I love it all even some country and I'm in the middle of producing a Rock and Heavy Metal Band. I dislike putting a title on music. I didn't realize I did a Neo-Soul song until someone told me. Well this turn out longer than I intended and I didn't mean for it to turn into an interview but since I'm new at this and it's hard to catch up with this mystery guy, I got let's say.... lost.So next month I'll do an interview with the 18 year old song writer, rapper, producer and CEO of his own company. Yes his own company (these guys are not fooling around.) |
