Everytime I hear something new" - Kent Martin, SRO Productions and former agent for Billy Ray Cyrus. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ******************************* "great hooks" - Chris Keaton, Chris Keaton Productions, formerly Markee Music ************************************************************ **** ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ***************************i attempt to make every sound, every word, every note, and every nuance mean something. most of what i know about phrasing i learned from eric clapton and joe walsh. we used to have a saying-"if you can't play slow, you can't play." later i started listening to a lot of jeff beck and mahavishnu orchestra. i saw the dixie dregs in 1980 in a bar in virginia and began to incorporate steve morse into the mix. i love jan hammer-the best guitar player in the world who doesn't play guitar. i also like leslie west, and jeff healy who i am still mourning-truly a great player. i was first published in 1983 with a local hit called sittin' in roanoke. again in 1996 by markee music. i have two degrees in music-one is in composition 1986 the other in music ed 1988. i did grad studies at north texas in jazz program but dropped out to marry my lovely wife janet (21 years in august). the songs currently on the site are from the '96 album "calm before the storm" which addresses concerns which have since manifested. i have a new album in the works. new tracks and video coming to myspace soon. |
