Being a huge fan of Jason Becker for more than 20 years, I have decided to run the New York City Marathon on November 2, 2008, and to set up a Jason Becker Charity around the Marathon. I will acquire sponsors for my Marathon and all the donations will directly go to Jason Becker. The scope of this Charity is truly global and it is my mission to unite as many Jason Becker fans as possible and to raise BIG money for him. We, Jason Becker fans, are obliged to pay back Jason for the fantastic music he created for us and which we still enjoy every day. Therefore the campaign is called "Time to payback !". DONATE MONEY Donating money is the most effective way of helping Jason. There is no rule whether you should donate 1, 10, 100 or 1.000 USD; just give with all of your heart whatever YOU think is appropriate. There are following methods of making donations:

Many of the Rockstars who are connected on MySpace, sponsor the Jason Becker Charity by donating their memorabilia for the auction (like a signed plectrum, drumsticks, tour pass, cd, dvd, drumhead, poster, shirt etc.). The principle is simple: donation to the Jason Becker Charity becomes automatically the bid on an auction item. Every once in a while I put up an item for auction, and the person with the highest donation in that period will receive the item !

| What happened to Jason Becker ? Jason Becker is known as one of the most gifted and talented guitar players in the history of music, as all world class guitarists unanimously will confirm. In 1991, while recording the “A little ain’t enough” record as the lead guitarist of the David Lee Roth Band at the age of 21, Jason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 1991 and was given less than 3 years to live. Fortunately, Jason is still around ! He eventually lost the ability to speak and now communicates with his eyes via a system developed by his father. Although his ALS gradually robbed him of his ability to play guitar, to walk, and eventually even to speak, he still remains mentally sharp and, with the aid of a computer, continues composing; he states "I have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It has crippled my body and speech, but not my mind." Now in his 30s, his medical condition has remained stable since 1997. Jason needs 24/7 care which he gets from his family and friends. Therefore financial support is very important to guarantee Jason gets the appropriate care.For those of you that do not about Jason's state, please take a look at the following two documentaries
