About Me

5'10" love road cycling w/ pals and relaxing, all things outdoor-related, laughing, drinking the good drinks, eating the good food, sharing ideas, etc. Hot dogs disgust me.Current interests: scuba, hiking more of the Appalachian Trail, beginning acoustic guitar lessons and more flying lessons if I can find the dough. Cabin getaways and city music venues are in order. Beer. Fresh air. Fun. Cool people. Kayaking. Parties. Going to the Beach. Serving in the Armed Forces. Reading. Sharing stories and experiences. If it involves one of the following, or a combination thereof, I'm probobly there: water, as found in the wild; backpack; mountain; road bicycle; hiking boots; fishing poles; music shows; beers; grilling out; patios; sunshine Which eye are you? ~~GREAT PICTURES~~

My Interests

Reading, camping, hiking, fishing, relaxing, road cycling, working with wood, B-rated horror & zombie movies, scuba diving, armed forces, get-togethers, traveling, and of course, being around good-hearted like-minded people full of love and sunshine. I'm always exploring new ideas and share thoughts and adventures with friends. I enjoy serving ideas and others and appreciate the selfless spirit in others. I absolutely LOVE to travel and am quite content with the idea of sitting on my couch and taking in a movie or a new text. I've gotten into flying lessons recently and love it, expensive that it is. I'm entertaining the idea of getting my teacher's certification. I LOVE spending time outdoors doing pretty much any and everything there is to be done involving trees, sun, rivers, rocks, lakes, dales, glens, cliffs, etc. - I love camping.

I'd like to meet:

Good peoples and graet speelers.

Music:

Yes please

Movies:

Pretty much everything from the 80's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".."The Goonies"... good goofy flics. I love John Cusack's films... it all started with "Better Off Dead" - I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS! I enjoy a good B-rated horror flic as well as some cheeseball zombie movies. I like the post-apocolyptic genre because one may see the human spirit prevail over the insanity (think "Blade Runner" "Reign of Fire" "Red Dawn" "Mad Max" etc.) Chic flics? Sure... as long as they're done well, "Love Actually" being one. As long as the film is clever or fun I'm likely to enjoy it. (Literature major in me I suppose.) Oh, and anything filmed in British Canada or the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, etc. is jaw-droppingly fantastic. I drool through movies set in Ireland, Wales, Scotland, or the countryside of Southern France. Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, misc. Kung-Fu movies, science fiction, Indiana Jones, Jewel of the Nile, Real Genius, Gattaca; Whale Rider and so forth and so on...

Video choice of the moment:

Television:

Lost, Firefly, Battlestar G., 24, Northern Exposure, boxed sets in general, the news, but more movies than TV. These channels are among my favorites:- Discovery - Outdoor Life Network - Foxnews - SciFi - WB - The Weather Channel (ya gots ta know!) - PBS - TMC - The History Channel - Food Network

Books:

I like to read, and experiement with writing now more than ever. I usually have three or so books going at a time. I've been on a non-ficitonal kick recently - company identities and such. I read cycling magazines, wood working magazines & books, and current events publications like Time or Newsweek, and outdoor publications like "Outdoor Magazine" (how appropriate, no?) & Scuba. I like humor as well as the writings of Bill Bryson. Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" is a good read if you're interested in hiking the Appalachian Trail or reading about one who has (well, Bryson almost finished.) Currently Reading:"World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War" & "Liscensed to Kill: Hired Guns in the War on Terror" & "Fair Tax" & "Sun Tzu for Success"Recent reads: - "Fool's Fate" Robin Hobb - "The Alphabet of Manliness" Brooks - "The Alchemist" Paulo Coelho - "A Walk in the Woods" Bill Bryson - "Angels & Demons" Dan Brown - "FAR/AIM 2005" FAA - "1984" George Orwell - "The Great Divorce" C.S. Lewis - "Wild at Heart" John Eldredge

Heroes:

God. My parents. My best friends and family. You. Me. Old ladies with cool hats.
