| Charles rice was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in July of 1979. Charles began studying the guitar (both electric and classical) at the age of 13 and went on to learn the piano. He studied and the University of California at Berkely where he earned a BA in Music and went on to get a Master's Degree in Composition. He studied classical guitar with Douglas Murphy (a student of Christopher Parkening) and piano with Semyon Lohss. His compositions are varied from Pinao Sonatas to Chamber music and solo guitar works.
Charles will release his debut album "influence" in July 08. This album features both original compositions and performances of guitar masters. "Influence" will be available by order June 2008 This CD will have 14 tracks: 01: Te Falto (Rice) 02: Capricho Arabe (Tarrega) 03: Etude No. 1 (Villa-lobos) 04: Pedales etude (Rice) 05-09: Cinc Preludios (Villa-Lobos) 10-12: Tres Preludios (Rice) 13: Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Tarrega) 14: Austrius from Suite Espanola (Albeniz) *******END GENERIC BIOGRAPHY******** Sergie Rachmaninoff once said "Music is enough for a life time, but a life time is never enough for music." I have loved music, both the study of it and the composition, for most of my life. I believe music to be the most underestimated influence on the world and on individuals and has the power to inspire those who listen towards anything they desire. |
