About Me
ADONIS MITZELOS -Born in Athens ,Hellas. Composer-guitar virtuoso-arranger.Started to play music as a professional since 1977. In 1981 he got his band together called ''TERMITES'' and within a decade,recorded 12 gold and platinum records, creating special music idioms in Hellenic musicology.The group also created a big myth around its name when suddenly, in 1988,and after 500 concerts in big stadiums and clubs, the group broke up.From 1988 to 1998 Adonis,studied all kinds of Hellenic traditional music,trying to discover ancient codes of music,explored PYTHAGORAS, ARISTOXENOS etc. He composed,arranged and played music with the greatest Greek singers and artists like G.DALARAS, H.ALEXIOY, E.ARVANITAKI, Y.KOTSIRAS and many-many more.With them he toured Greece,all of Europe, Asia and the U.S.A., perfoming in aproximately 1500 concerts.ADONIS arranged and produced 29 albums for other artists,all of them gold or platinum. He played the electric and acoustic guitar in studios for about 2000 song recording sessions and composed songs for 50 polysyllectic albums. In 1998 he gave two big concerts with his old band and each drew crouds of over 20.000 people. After this,he started his personal career with the album BOAT OF DREAMS (Universal), while one year later the album GUARDIAN ANGEL (B.M.G) was released and soon became two times platinum. In 2000 he recorded his first instrumental album in New York with the jazz group SPYRO GYRA titled BEYOND THE LIGHT (Universal), and gave a special concert in the ancient theatre of Lycabettus in Athens with 5000 friends celebrating the 20 years of his musical career.In the same year he went on a European tour and recorded a concert in BRUSSELS, BELGIUM(EMI-2001).In 2003,the album BEST DAY IS THE DAY OF DREAMS followed with ELENI PETA(UNIVERSAL) and in 2005 the album MUSIC FOR DAN GAME THERAPY(a very special kind of music for the brain) .On 11-11-2006 he put on a big concert in Nicosia-Cyprus in memory of his lost son with the best Greek singers DALARAS and ZORBALA etc, launching a great campaign for safe driving. For the last two years, he has been giving concerts every week all around Greece and Cyprus in big stadiums or clubs with his old friend Lavrentis Maxairitsas and during the last month plays music with the singer of GUARDIAN ANGEL Y.KOTSIRAS.Parallel to all this he composes music for the play ORLANDO-Virginia Wolf. For the last 3 years ADONIS MITZELOS has been composing music for big orchestras and electric guitars, and continues to research ancient Greek music and codes... En 1981, il crée sa bande appelée TERMITES et durant les dix années suivantes, créant des idiomes musicaux speciaux dans la musicologie hellenique, il enregistre 12 albums, devenus disques d’or et de platine. Par l’intermédiaire de sa bande, un grand mythe s’établit autour de son nom jusqu’ en 1988, époque où le groupe prend fin après une période de 500 concerts environ deroulés dans de grands stades et clubs. De 1988 à 1998, Adonis étudie toutes les formes de la musique traditionnelle hellénique, fait des essais pour retrouver les anciens codes de la musique, explorés par PYTHAGORAS, ARISTOXENOS, etc... Il compose, arrange et joue de la musique auprès de grands chanteurs et artistes grecs, tels G. DALARAS, H. ALEXIOY, E. ARVANITAKI, Y. KOTSIRAS et il effectue, encore plus, avec eux des tournées en Grèce, dans toute l’ Europe, en Asie et aux U.S.A. et joue donc aproximativement dans 1.500 concerts. Adonis se charge de l’ arrangement et de la production de 29 albums d’autres artistes, tous devenus des disques d’or ou de platine. Il joue de la guitare éléctrique et acoustique en studios pour plus de 2.000 chansons enregistrées et compose des chansons pour 50 albums polysélectifs. En 1998, il donne deux grands concerts avec sa vieille band et reussit à rassembler plus de 20.000 personnes. Ensuite, il commence sa carriére personnelle avec l’ album BOAT OF DREAMS(Bâteau des Rêves / Universal) et un an plus tard lance le nouvel album GUARDIAN ANGEL(L’Ange Gardien / BMG) qui devient deux fois disque de platine. En l’ an 2000, en collaboration avec le groupe jazz SPYRO GYRA, il enregistre son premier album instrumental intitulé BEYOND THE LIGHT(Au-delà de la Lumière / Universal) à N.Y. et donne un concert special dans l’ ancien thêatre du Lycabette à Athènes en vue de célébrer, avec 5.000 amis, les 20 ans de sa carrière musicale. Durant la même année, il effectue en Europe une tournée musicale et enregistre un concert à Bruxelles – Belgique (EMI-2001). En 2003, se présente avec l’ album BEST DAY IS THE DAY OF DREAMS (Le Meilleur Jour est le Jour des Rêves / Universal) avec la chanteuse ELENI PETA, lequel est suivi, en 2005, par l’ album MUSIC FOR DAN GAME THERAPY (une forme spéciale de musique intellectuelle). Le 11/11/2006, il organise un grand concert à Nicosie – Chypre, en mémoire de la perte de son fils en collaboration avec les meilleurs chanteurs grecs, tels G. DALARAS, M. ZORBALA, etc... lançant parallèlement une campagne importante sur la securité de la conduite prudente. Concernant les deux dernières années, il effectue des concerts chaque semaine sur toute la Grèce et la Chypre, lesquels se déroulent dans de grands stades ou clubs, en compagnie de son vieux copain, Lavrentis Maxairitsas, et le dernier mois il joue de la musique avec le chanteur de GUARDIAN ANGEL (L’Ange Gardien) Y. KOTSIRAS. Parallèlement, il compose de la musique pour la pièce theâtrale ORLANDO - Virginia Wolf. Les trois dernières années, ADONIS MITZELOS est compositeur de musique pour des grands orchestres et des guitares éléctriques, et continue également sa recherche dans l’ ancienne musique grecque et de codes musicaux ...
