YOU TOUCHED MANY PEOPLE AND YOU WIL NEVVVEERRRRR BE FORGOTTEN!! MY SON THA FUTURE!!!! Malica a.k.a the "UNSIGNED HYPE" is the newest sensation to hit the scene. Her charismatic style and angelic voice are an entity that cannot go unnoticed. Her self-discovery of music took place at the age of four. She had the influences of real Hip Hop and R&B from the streets of Brooklyn where she was born. In addition, being that Malica's father owned one of Kingston Jamaica's extremely popular reggae sound systems in the late 80's called Love Vibration, Malica was raised surrounded by the stylings of talented reggae musicians such as Barrington Levy, Sanchez, Professor Nuts, Beenie Man, and many more. Accordingly, these extremely different genres are all evident in Malica's ragga-hop style of music. When she told her parents that she was born to sing Malica's parents immediately knew what they had to do. Her mom started taking her to singing lessons and entered her into multiple talent shows. Everyone that saw her perform were uplifted by the powerful yet melodious voice of this little girl. She conveyed a sense of assurance and fulfillment through her sound and presence that no one had ever seen before. From there, she had involved herself in many facets of the entertainment industry to pursue her dreams. Malica has taken Opera and R&B/ Gospel lessons since the age of five. She received a full scholarship to Orlando Opera Camp and was featured on the Channel 9 news because of her talents. She was part of All county Chorus and took dance lessons at James Dance center. In addition, she was trained for teen acting and modeling at the acting school of Lisa Maile. Now at the age of 21, Malica's talents have created an unquestionable hype not only in orlando but in many other cities. When asked what she thinks about the comparisons that have been made about her and other female artists, Malica's response was, "Yea I get compared to a variety of females some are thought to have a similar style to what i do but guess what they are them and i am me. Truthfully, we all have talent but when I'm doing me im coming with a different style when I open my mouth its my voice when im on stage that's Malica and her team the people are enjoyin at that moment not anyone elses team. Although I know it's bound to happen, I just hope that anyone listening or watching appreciates the talent instead of focusing on comparisons or who is better in this genre." Her response to NEYO's "So Sick" captured the ears of many and was chosen and played on major radio stations by numerous program directors from Florida to New York to L.A. and back to her home of Orlando. Malica has done a variety of shows at many well-known venues including, Universal Studio's Hard Rock Live, Disney's House of Blues, Sea World, Miami's Bayfront Park and AT&T Amphitheater. Some of the artists she has opened for include Beenie Man, T-pain, Buju Banton, Elephant Man, Baby Cham, Wayne Wonder, Mims, Ying Yang Twins, Method Man, Sizzla, Capleton, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg, Ray J, Nick Cannon, Volteo, Cuban Link, Wayne Anthony, Darkchild recording Artist ATIBA, Three Six Mafia, Sasha, Tanto Metro & Devonte, and Mr. Vegas just to name a few. Malica's determination and passion have been key elements in her persistence. From this, she has become more involved with this art, perfecting every aspect of her long time devotion... MUSIC. |
