After paying their dues in basements, bars, and even horse barns across Northeast Pennsylvania and Upstate New York and armed with their newest EP, titled Shipwrecks and Silhouettes, EAST BAY VIEW is taking it to the next level. Founded in the last months of 2005 by cousins Patrick and Brandon, The band grew through several lineup changes, countless shows, demos, and practices throughout the next year. The band recorded an untitled EP in the fall of 2007, which quickly gained them new fans and more buzz around the Northeast. In 2008, the band signed with local label Nowhere, PA records, and teamed up with producer Ed Luecke and Engineer Dave Rice of Basement Audio to record their debut professional EP, Shipwrecks and Silhouettes, as well as performing shows across all parts of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The end of 2008 has brought many opportunities for the band, as they continue to spread their music through the internet, their energetic live shows, and word of mouth. Already, several songs off of Shipwrecks and Silhouettes are being played on college radio stations throughout PA and NY, and the band plans to continue performing and bringing their brand of pop-punk and alternative rock to new places and people for as long as their fans want to hear them. FAQ’s: Q: Will EBV play at my party/event? A: We’d love to! Obviously things like distance and cost (unfortunately gas is expensive) factor in, but we certainly will do our best! Q: Where can I buy EBV’s songs or t-shirts? A: All of our merch is available at our shows, but if you can’t make it to one, our songs will soon be available on many major music downloading and purchasing websites, such as Amazon.com, iTunes and CDBaby. We also have a PayPal account set up if you would like to buy t-shirts. Q: Do you respond to comments? And who talks to me from EBV’s myspace? A: We always get back to anyone who sends us a message, or leaves us comments! If you enjoy our music, the least we can do is spend time talking to you. We really should be making you brownies or something! Patrick and Brandon get on the page and respond to people the most, but you never know, everyone gets on from time to time. Q: Who designed EBV’s myspace layout? A: That would be Brandon, and his design company DANCE EIGHTY! Designs. They're in our top friends, and they do great work!
