Greyhound Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit organization intent on introducing these "noble beasts" of canines as the perfect, fun, loving, and low-maintenance pets they can be!We want to make ourselves accessible to the racing industry -- racetracks, breeders, trainers and kennels -- in taking in and finding loving homes for under-qualified, injured or otherwise retired Greyhounds. We do not limit ourselves to registered, racing Greyhounds. Unregistered and stray Greyhounds will also find a place with us.We recognize the nature of the Greyhound racing industry and its need to replace injured or slow Greyhounds with newer, fitter racers. The discarded Greyhounds may no longer meet the qualifications for racing, but they are young and overall healthy-- and capable of making great pets!Greyhounds nationwide are welcome. We will provide them with veterinary care, placement evaluation and lots of tender loving care.We are in the beginning stages of creating our website, www.greyhoundsanctuary.com -- your assistance, input and support are always welcome! We will be adding more information, photos, listings and links soon.We seek volunteers, foster homes, and adoptive homes for Greyhounds. Donations are also welcome. There are many ways to get involved-- throw your ideas my way or simply ask!Disclosure: Greyhound Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a neutral position with regards to the Greyhound racing industry (neither for nor against). We fully collaborate with other adoption organizations, racetracks, breeders, trainers, and other entities in taking in and placing all Greyhounds in a loving home. |
