| Tomer Tzur Is most wanted for drum-set and Mid Eastern percussion. From Rishon LeZion, Israel, Tomer moved to NYC to study composition and performances at the Mannes/New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program. The vibrant music scene in New York exposed Tomer to Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music, which he played with the percussion ensemble 'Beat the Donkey' lead by Cyro Baptista. Naturally Tomer adapted his native Mid Eastern percussion the darbukah and tof-miriam (Riq). Tomer toured/recorded with Pharaoh's Daughter, Amos Hoffman, Harel Shachal's Anistar, Shira Kline, Avishai Cohen(bass)... He compose Music for animation and theatre. Tomer is a co-founder of the band The Sway Machinery, described as "Klezmer-tinged blues band...sounds like Muddy Waters" -The New York Times Magazine. Tomer Moved to Israel few months ago... | |
