| JOHNNY OBERLY - singer/songwriter/flautist/storyteller/and artist...Playing guitar, songwriting and artwork is my primary mode of self-expression... I've relocated to Colorado...so I'll be seeing what I can get going here in next year or two. ...In the beginning of 2006 I was playing at various venues downtown with an alternative rock band called the "NUCLEAR GRIZZLIES," but I moved on to a couple of other projects in Tucson... In 2007 Tucson I played with a Heavy Metal Band called "Out From Shadows," we had a pretty cool-dark sound...sort of Soundgarden-ish or Staind-ish... Personally, I have been heavily influenced by a lot of great acoustic musicians I've seen play live over the years, like: Bill Miller, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Keb Mo, Alice In Chains, Neil Young...and several others...and these influences come through in my solo acoustic shows. I'm also basically a 90's guy, and I was really into "Grunge" music...sported flannel shirts and so on... and when the volume is pumped up a little and distortion is turned on, the grunge comes out in me...
