| MCO and his band have a good thing going on at Ruta Maya's house band . MCO has been hosting Tuesday night open mic @ Ruta Maya for over a year now. Free Open Jam with an All Star Band has also been going strong now for over a year. Bieng a unique oppurtunity for budding and established musicians both to play with a high caliber band. Many musicians come frequently and the band get's the artist's songs even tighter and tighter as the weeks go by. All musicians are welcome beginner to advanced. Many genres of music are explored on these evenings from country,jazz,reggae,rock,hip-hop, spiritual,indigenous you name it it happens. It's always free and always fun.
). ,brMCO and the Flong All-Stars has been rocking it's residency at Ruta Maya Tuesdays and now are the official house band of Ruta Maya International Headquarters. The Band has recently been overhauled with a new lineup featuring Ed Miles on drums whose resume includes (Gary P. Nunn,Diasporic,Chris Duarte etc.), Mellie Mel on Sax (Tribal Nation,D Madness Project) . Mike Rubin (Ruthie Foster,Mr. Brown) has also recently been added to the lineup. My Resume includes (Vitamin) a semi-popular San Diego Band in the mid-nineties, which featured me and John Butler of (The John Butler Trio) Australia's number1 Roots artist, sharing lead vocals. I later moved to Australia and joined John's drummer Jason McGann in a popular Perth funk band called (Proton) which gigged many times with the Trio. |
