| Dave Gillis was born in Boston and got his first guitar for Christmas in 1964. He soon began learning and performing folk, blues and bluegrass songs at a very young age. He enjoyed listening and playing Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan songs and was mesmerized by the guitar playing of B.B. King, Freddy King and Eric Clapton. By the age of 16, he was playing out at Folk City in Greenwich Village, New York City. He played the bar circuit for many years but now spends most of his time writing and composing music. The new self titled CD is a collection of songs aimed at baby boomers. The lyrics tell the story of years gone by and memories that are still fresh. Dave Gillis has been called a unique songwriter and talented guitarist. | |
