Music:Member Since: 1/30/2008Band Members: 1967-1995 Shannon Hoon was born on September 26th, 1967. Shannon was an avid athlete in high school and it wasnt until after he graduated that he decided to pursue a career in music. He fronted a glam rock band named Styff Kitten in his hometown of Lafayette, Indiana before deciding he wanted to see what the world had to offer him. Shannon boarded a Greyhound bus in March of 1990 bound for Los Angeles. Shortly after his arrival, he met up with the other members of the band and Blind Melon was born. Shannon became one of the most influential artists in music history. In August of 1994, Shannon led the band in a profound performance at Woodstock that left even the harshest critics in awe. In July of 1995, he became the proud father of a daughter, Nico Blue Hoon, with his high school sweetheart, Lisa Crouse. Shannon passed away in his sleep while on tour on October 21st, 1995.
