| This is our second animation video for the song The Pillar. Produced by Andre Gagnon. Recording guitars Add to My Profile | More Videos Since their inception in 1998, Mute has always been about playing the music they love without compromise. Their fast, melodic and technical punk rock sound was carefully crafted over the years throughout countless rehearsals and gigs. In the beginning, the band developed their talent by working on covers of bands they like before moving on to writing their own songs. Blending the various influences of each member, the result has attracted comparisons to such bands as Craig's Brother, Satanic Surfers (obviously, since half of the songs are sung by the drummer), Strung Out, Rufio, Slick Shoes, and Lagwagon. They recorded the usual and forgettable demo in 2000 and a not-so-forgettable EP called "Blueprints" in 2002. This record drew very enthusiastic reviews from all over the province of Quebec and the band played as many shows as they could to promote the album. A year and several guitar players later, the band returned to the studio to record their first full-length album. Entitled "Sleepers", it was released early 2004 on Quebec City's Milk and Cookies records and was an instant success among the punk rock community, earning them accolades from just about everyone from theirs fans to Quebecs newspapers to Musique Plus (Quebecs MTV). They followed up the release with several Eastern Canada tours and they have no intention of slowing down. Their live performances have often been praised for their intensity. They have even shared the stage with nationally-famed bands like Ten Foot Pole, Bigwig, Craigs Brother and their personal heroes, Satanic Surfers. With more touring to come, the re-release of the Blueprints EP now completely sold-out and a second music video in the making, Mute is and will remain a force to be reckoned with in the punk rock world. While the genre has been pretty much on life-support for a couple of years now, their sound is sure to make the listener relive the glory days of the "skate punk" era. Click to buy |
