I’ve performed in several markets such as Florida, Georgia, California and the Carolinas”, states Ms. Mechette.Ms. Mechette’s rap style is considered different from the average female rapper. “I try to set myself apart from other females by painting a picture that people can relate with. My lyrics are original and speak of life experiences”, explains the rapstress. These vivid portraits can be heard on tracks such as “I See U Lookin”, “It’s A Trip Ain’t It” and “Showed Out”.Writing rhymes has been Ms. Mechette’s hobby since the age of 12. “As a young girl I used to stand in front of the mirror and recite my lyrics all day and night. I truly visualized myself becoming one of the greatest entertainers of all time,” says Ms. Mechette.Although, female rappers influence Ms. Mechette she isn’t in a hurry to get into the studio with them. “I would love to go toe-to-toe with male rappers. Three-6 Mafia, Pastor Troy, T.I., David Banner, Trick Daddy and Lil’ John are some people I would like to work with first because they’re holding down the south,” explained Ms. Mechette. “When I’m done collaborating with the fellas, then I’ll be ready to work with the females”.This “Queen City” slayer is currently looking for a place to call home where she can be free to express her creativity.
