About Me

I be the drummer for the world's premier punk rock outfit Armitage Shanks, the well-known (currently dormant but not moribund) pop combo, Sportique, and the blues boogie act, Spitfire 4. I is also a writer. My novel, Taking Candy from a Dog, is finished after 3 years work (although parts of it were begun in 1989) and you can read it when it's published. I put together CD comps and re-issues for Joe Foster's Rev-Ola label. I were also once the drummer with Auntie Vegetable, Ye Ascoyne d'Ascoynes, the Dentists, the Rubberman 12, JTQ (true, sort of) and almost the drummer on St Etienne's debut album, Foxbase Alpha (also true). I am hopelessly naieve and gullible which is probably why I retain eternal optimism that things will one day get better. As my uncle Mac says, you never know what's around the corner. Oh, I nearly forgot, I was a private detective for 2 months in 2006. That was fun.

My Interests

Cricket and lying around in the sun.

I'd like to meet:

Christian the Lion

I salute the Norwegian Army

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Norse people; the land that gave us the world's second greatest explorer (1. Capt James Cook 2. Roald Amundsen 3. Sir Ernie Shackleton) and one of my favourite writ...

Alan Price - The Most Underrated Man in Music

I'm at work, so I'll keep it brief, but it's got to be said. I bought Alan Price's 'Best Of' about a year ago. I bought it because I needed to have Simon Smith & His Amazing Dancing Bear, which i...
