About Me

At age 17, Quincy B delivers a globally conscious awareness that is universal through his melodies, lyrics, production, musicianship and performances. He is the son of an Indonesian mother and an American father who exposed him to world travels through Indonesia, Europe, and Asia at an early age. Quincy speaks Indonesian, English and is currently taking French in High School. This unique multicultural background combined with his Los Angeles urban upbringing set the backdrop for a creative writing style by mixing urban beats with global messages. Quincy’s enthusiasm for music began in middle school where he learned to read music and play the trombone. At age 13 he played in the school band during the day and honed his Pro-tools software skills at night which inspired him to produce his own music. Quincy has taken advantage of his Los Angeles urban roots by listening too and admiring east coast rap, hip hop and R&B. You can hear his rap influences and interpretation with songs like “Keep it Movin” and “Changes” which evoke a sense of responsibility with clever rap delivery, smooth transitions, solid cadence and infectious beats. Although Quincy has a strong love for rap and hip hop music, he has not limited his talents to a single genre. He has a natural gift for writing and producing in multiple styles as well as selecting great artists to collaborate with. His song “LA to JA” featuring Britishipe delivers an uplifting Caribbean groove that makes any room feel like an island dance floor. “Not the Right Time” featuring Micah is a strong R&B song that delivers a pop hook, smooth layered vocals, a well written chorus, a memorable melody, and a heartfelt storyline. Quincy is not afraid to step out of the norm and blend his international heritage with his love of beats and hip hop grooves. He delivers an outstanding world song with “Move Your Body” that opens with Middle Eastern instrumentation and melody like belly dancing music and supports it with dynamic dance beats and universal hip hop lyrics that’s a dance crowd favorite. Quincy is finding much success with his interpretation of his song “Chillin in the Caribbean” which is based on his experiences with the Caribbean culture and the importance of taking out time to enjoy life. Quincy enjoys his success with his peers and is grateful for the amount of support he receives from them. In a short time he has received over 60,000 hits on his my space page and 2,800 friends. Quincy’s talents as a producer; performer, and lyricist are part of what makes him successful with his peers but more importantly he delivers positive messages with realistic life situations using an urban approach with non offensive lyrics and language. Not an easy task but for Quincy he wouldn’t have it any other way.Aim=YaBoyQB Yim=Qcbhiphop
