| Rising from the ashes of several fallen bands, Stellar founding members Tracy Haines, Roderick Rapier and Trevor Johnson set out to find the perfect catalyst to bring to life Indy's best budding rock band. On April 25th, 2008, after searching across the Internet, Myspace, and utilizing several local contacts, Stellar finally found the key to bringing this new born nebula to bloom. Singer Matt Somers had an immediate impact on the already dynamic sonic force that is Stellar. The band became more edgy and now possessed a live presence to be reckoned with. Audience members were no longer passer-bys, they were now captive fans; avid supporters, suddenly, of a band they had never heard before. But Stellar is not simply an entertaining rock group that churns out juke-box style performances; Stellar is a band full of accomplished, confident and experienced musicians that garner the respect of, not only their audience, but also the respect of fellow musicians and bands. Combining the funk, blues, and R n' B sensibilities of master bassist Rod Rapier, with the tight, explosive percussion tapestries of Texan drummer Tracy Haines, Stellar lays down the perfect rhythm backdrop for visceral electric outbursts of guitarist Trevor Johnson and the nuclear energy of frontman and wireless entertainer Matt Somers. By supplying a wide array of influences that perfectly complement each other, Stellar is able to offer a broad appeal to any generation or gender of listener. Stellar does not merely play shows; Stellar performs concerts. A band with unlimited possibilities, Stellar continues to build on itself. Whether it's learning exciting new and challenging songs, or writing their own original music, Stellar is constantly focused on where their bright future will one day take them... |
