| "Help the northwoods" is a conservation awareness and action organization striving to preserve and restore the majestic natural areas of Minnesota and surrounding areas. These natural areas include: lakes, rivers, wetlands, praries, forests and all other areas that serve as wildlife habitat and ecosystem balance in our natural environment. Our mission at "help the northwoods" is to promote awareness of the current state of our natural areas and how they can be preserved and restored from private ownership, to areas managed or proposed to be managed by state or federal means. Education and awareness are key aspects of the "help the northwoods" mission as well as creating a network of nonprofit agencies, state and federal agencies, and conscientious citizens to aid in spreading awareness as well as funding projects dealing with awareness as well as research, restoration, and protected land acquisition for the benefit of our natural world.One goal of "help the northwoods" is to focus on one specific project in Minnesota concerning funding for research, restoration, and protected land acquisition at any given time to ensure the projects success is not out of reach. This goal will be achieved through other locally donating nonprofit affiliates as well as through state and federal grants obtained by the help the northwoods network as well as any possible "help the northwoods" fundraising activities.
