| Tenor Gianluca Paganelli was born in Rome. He started his musical career at the tender age of six when he was picked to sing in il coro delle voci bianche della Rai. At the age of seventeen he joined Nicolo' Fabi's pop group as lead singer. It was during his early twenties, however, he discovered his love for opera and has not looked back since.
He has sung in a myriad of operas including Rigoletto (Duca di Mantova), La Traviata (Alfredo), Il Don Pasquale (Ernesto), and La Boheme (Rodolfo). His sacred repertoire extends to soloist in Cecilia (Licinio Refice), Stabat Mater (Licinio Refice), Petite Masse Solonelle (Rossini) and Stabat Mater (Rossini).
In the course of his classical career, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the world's greatest conductors, such as Zubin Mehta and Myung-Whun Chung.
However, his experience in the limelight has not been limited to the world of classical music, as he has often appeared in European films as both actor and singer. He featured as the tenor in "mio fratello e figlio unico" (2006) and, more recently, can be seen in the remake of "La Dolce Vita" and "Vacanze Romane" which was shown on New Year's Day in Russia on Canale 1 Russia with Angelica Verun. He made his musical theatre debut in 2004 with "Phantom of the Opera" and "My Fair Lady", in the latter, interpreting the role of Freddie. This year, he made an CD of various opera arias, including Puccini, Verdi and Donizetti. In 2007 he was chosen to take part in the Opera Studio at the Auditiorium Parco della Musica, given by Renata Scotto who deemed him to be a singer with an extremely promising future ahead of him.
He is currently working on a project with the soprano, Saffron Jones, including a recital series and CD. Myspace Backgrounds |
