| Dorota Miskiewicz ..:: vocalist, born on the 12th of September 1973, comes from a musical family (her father Henryk Miskiewicz-famous saxophonist, brother Michal Miskiewicz- drummer in the Tomasz Stanko Quartet). Dorota graduated in violin from Warsaw Music Academy. Her vocal career began when she won the second prize at The International Jazz Singers’ Meetings in Zamosc (Poland) in 1994. By that time she has already been working with the famous polish piano player and composer, Wlodzimierz Nahorny. Due to her ability to sing in different styles, many musicians invite her to be part of their own projects. She is not only a vocalist, but also a song-writer. In 2002 together with her band “Dorota Goes To Heaven”, Miskiewicz released her first author’s album “Zatrzymaj Sie” (“Stop”) which earned her a nomination as best jazz album at the polish prestigious “Fryderyk Awards”. In 2005 she released her second album “Pod Rzesami” (SonyBMG) which made her recognizable not only among jazz fans. In 2006 she recorded a duo with Cesaria Evora on the polish edition of Cesaria’s album “Rogamar”. She cooperated with: Ewa Bem, Anna Maria Jopek (projects with Pat Metheny and Mino Cinelu), Grzegorz Turnau, Nigel Kennedy, Klaus Doldinger, Tomasz Stanko, Wojciech Mlynarski, Janusz Strobel, Abel Korzeniowski, David Murray, Kepa Junkera ::.. Discography: - Zatrzymaj sie (2002 GRAMI) - Pod rzesami (2005 SonyBMG) ...As a guest she recorded over 30 albums.
