Going Green What are we doing about becoming a 'Green Hotel' has become an important topic as we certainly have a responsibility to our community and the world overall. It is something that guests are starting to ask about so here is what we have done and are working on: * With the exception of 7 decorative bulbs in our lobby area, we replaced every light bulb in every room and public area of our hotel with flourescent bulbs. We did cut the wattage of those 7 bulbs in the lobby in half though. * We have replaced every toilet in the hotel with 1.5 gallon toilets. * We are working on replacing guest room air conditioning units with high efficiency units. * We are recycling cardboard and office paper. * We are about to change to a mixed stream recycling program with our trash contractor so we can also recycle cans, bottles and plastics. |
