| Michael D.Travlos is a composer from Athens-Greece.He studied at the HDK Berlin with the korean composer Isang Yun and lives since 1980 in Athens as a freelance composer and professor of composition. His works include chamber music,orchestra pieces,concertos for various instruments,one chamber Opera and some electronica. His works have been performed in various european countries such as : Germany,France,Italy,Russia,Poland,Spain,UK,Yugoslavia,Belgi um,Holland e.t.c. Some honored prices: 1st prize at the international competition for composition Jeunesses Musicales-Belgrade for his orchestra work "Eniwetock". 1st prize at the international competition for composition for chamber music in Stuttgart for his String Quartet "Metathesis" Prince Piere de Monaco Musical Award for his orchestra work "Prisma" Various prices from the Cultural Ministry of Athens-Greece. 2nd price in Logronio-Spain for his work 3 Happenings.He has participated several times at the Gaudeamus Festival for new music in Bilthoven-Holland and at the international days for contemporary music(ISCM) Michael Travlos is besides his occupation as a prof. for composition,artistic director at the "Nikos Scalkotas" conservatory in Athens. | |
