About Me |

MyHotComments Thank you for visiting my myspace page. CURRENTLY RE-DESIGNING IT. My name is Christina and I am 49 years old. My nickname is "qui-qui" pronounced “kwee-kwee”. I don’t know what it means or why my dad started calling me that. Hee Hee I believe “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. ” —Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) I have no tolerance for the Crimes of Genocide, Racial Discrimination, Discrimination against Women and Torture in any country. I also support the rights of the Child, All Migrant Workers and their family members and All Indigenous Peoples. Please visit the Indigenous Environmental Network Website I live in Vancouver, Washington with my husband Chuck, our daughter Kim, our dog Sparkie and our cats Keylee and Boo-Boo. We have lived in Vancouver since 1995. Prior to that we lived in Ventura, California and Santa Clarita, California. I was born in southern California and still consider my hometown to be Santa Clarita. I have 4 siblings. 3 of them older and 1 younger. 3 sisters and one brother. All of them live in California. My parents are in their 80s and live in a nursing home and we feel blessed that they are still with us. I was raised in a typical Chicano family. I am the descendant of Opata, Pima and Apache Indians (INDIGINEOUS TO THIS CONTINENT)who inter-married with German (possibly Jewish)and French immigrants who immigrated to Mexico. The Opatas primitive name was"Joir-Ra-Hua" or "Joyl -Ra-Ua". Included in this group are the Opata, Teguima, Eudeve and Jova Tribes. These indigenious tribes occupied the Opateria in the central and northern regions of Mexico and into southern Arizona. At one time they occupied areas of the Matape, Moctezuma, Middle Yaqui, San Miguel, Bavispe river valleys. Their territory extended from the Huachuca Mountains of southern Arizona into Central Sonora, Mexico. The Opatas occupied an extensive area in the eastern and central parts of the state of Sonora, which corresponds now to almost all of the Sahuaripa and Moctezuma districts and parts of Ures and Arizpe. The center of the Opata civilization was located in the Sahuaripa region. Many Opata moved north across the U.S. border to Arizona and California in the late 1800s. The tribal formations were distributed among the towns of Arizpe, Huepac, Bacoachi, Chinapa, Banamichi, Sinoquipe, Baviacora, Guasavas, Oputo, Bacadeguachi, Nacori, Bacerac, Bavispe, Guachinera, Oposura, Cumpas, Cuquierachi, Cucuta, Teuricatzi, Tepachi, Terrapa, Pipita, Yecora, Nacozari, Batepito and Corodeguachi. Their languages are classified as Uto-Aztecan/Southern Uto-Aztecan/Sonoran/Cahita. These tribes were/are also known as Opatas, Opates, Teguimas, Teguimes, Eudeves, Eudebes, Heves, Hegues, Heguis, Dohemas, Dohemes, Aibinos, Egue, Sisibotaris, Jovas, Jobals, Jovals, Ovas and Obagg'ata, Batucos, Huapec, Huazabas, Bacerac, etc. At times they were called by the names of their leaders or settlements by the missionaries. Their leaders were Sisibotari, Cruz Vesve, Pablo Quilme, Miguel Sol, Bautista Sol, Dorame, Rafael Tanori, Juan Tanori, Espiritu, Dolores, Guiterrez, Antonio Baiza and many more. To learn more about the Opata Tribes, visit my site at http://www.opatas.com or write to me at opatas@hotmail.com Please feel free to add me or send me a message anytime! Take care and have a good day |

Movies:I like Action, Adventure, Animation, Biography, Comedy, Crime, Documentary, Drama, Family, Fantasy, History, Mystery, Romance, Sci-Fi, TV mini-series, some Thrillers and Western. I don't like horror movies at all!One of the funniest movies I've seen is called Bringing up Baby , 1938. Starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. "In this screwball comedy, heiress Susan is determined to catch a stuffy paleontologist and uses her pet leopard, Baby, to help get his attention. The elements of this farce include a yappy terrier who steals and buries an irreplaceable fossilized bone, a pompous big game hunter, a rich old aunt, a jealous fiancée, and a case of mistaken identity involving a second, and vicious, leopard. Written by Fiona Kelleghan {fkelleghan@aol.com) Another movie I thought was just so funny was Popeye 1980 starring Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall. Movies of the 70s I like: Godfather, Godfather II, One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest, Star Wars, Taxi Drive, Appocalypse Now, Alien, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Jaws, The Deer Hunter, Young Frankenstein, All the President's Men, Rocky, Deliverance, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Blazing Saddles. Movies of the 80's I liked Color Purple Star Wars V and VI Indianna Jones and the Last Crusade Rain Man The Goonies ET Ferris Bueller's Day Off Back to the Future Die Hard The Princess Bride (hee hee) Stand by Me Terminator Popeye Movies of the 90s that I like: Dances with Wolves Thunder Heart Smoke Signals Last of the Mohicans 500 nations Last of the Dogmen Shindler's List The Matrix Saving Private Ryan Forrest Gump Terminator 2 Toy Story Lion King Braveheart Fargo Green Mile Movies of the 2000s I like: All the Lord of the Ring movies, The Departed, The Pianist, Hotel Rwanda, The Missing, Windwalker, Coyote Waits, Into the West, Rattatouille, Apocolypto, Bourne Ultimatum, Gladiator, Letters from Iwo Jima, Finding Nemo, Little Miss Sunshine, 3:10 to Yuma, The Incredibles. |
