About Me |
|
| The tale of the Virgins starts in Santiago del Compostela, a small catholic village in the Catalan region of southern Spain. As a terrible storm rattles the stained glass panes of the church a young Priest is having a restless night, caught in a crisis of faith. His young and curious mind is occupied by extraordinary visions; dreams of Loa and spirits, a doctor of medicine in a smoky jazz café and the constant, deafening sound of African Voodoo drums.
He awakes with a start, unsure of his surroundings, straining his eyes in the half-light. He tries to move and finds he is unable. What is it that binds his hands? An intravenous drip? And that incessant electrical beeping - the sound of a cardiac monitor?
