VN Media is committed to a personal, hands-on, goal-oriented style of artist development and management and represents jazz, blues, contemporary classical and acoustic artists based in the Southwest. Our roster currently includes contemporary classical guitarist, George Pepper and jazz guitarist, Mike Brannon. George Pepper, hailing from tiny Alpine, Texas, is finding ready audiences in the southwest for his original contemporary classical compositions. Studies with jazz greats Jackie King, Herb Ellis and Pat Martino shaped his palette as well as study culminating in a bachelors degree at the Berklee College of Music, a year long tour with punk rocker, Johnny Thunders and a stint in the progressive rock band B-Rock. George is working on the release of two CD's in the coming year; "Fossils", which revisits some of George's earlier counterpoint compositions and 'Heavy Nylon' which will feature original contemporary works as well as arrangements of popular rock tunes. George endorses Godin and LaPatrie guitars, Carlos Juan pickups and Encore music notation software. Check out his website at www.georgealtonpepper.com for upcoming performances. Mike Brannon has lead several award-winning jazz groups since finishing studies at the Berklee College of Music. In 2001 he released 'Barcodes' with the Synergy Quartet which featured Grammy artists Jeff Coffin (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) on sax and Trey Gunn (King Crimson) on the 8-string Warr guitar. He followed that release with 'Later' in 2006 featuring a core group of stellar musicians from San Antonio (Gerry Gibbs, Andy Langham and Brandon Rivas) along with Grammy artists Paul Wertico, Bill Evans and Harvie S. A new CD of original work is scheduled for release in 2008. Mike endorses Elixir Strings, Onyx Forge Guitars and Carlos Juan pickups. |
