| Blond Lemon Jefferson is an Electric Blues Band created by Bassist Tony Wisler. "I have an unwavering faith that blues music is the most entertaining form of music ever created" says Tony. He also knows that many forms of the style do not land with the uninitiated. And Blues has a reputation of being sad or depressing which is not really true. Blues is so fundamental that it can express any emotion. For Blond Lemon Jefferson the emotion is primarily enthusiasm.Tony was a fan of rock music through most of his youth. But in 1985 he went to the Long Beach Blues Festival. Expecting to be bored, he went reluctantly.
He had memories of his 1979 experience at the Playboy Jazz Festival to help foster this idea.His experience at this festival was much different. "I have never had more fun at a show then I did at my first long Beach blues festival...never." say Tony."Blues and Rock are very different musical forms but they can have one thing in common and that is energy. And I learned on that day that if a blues act has that energy the blues groove is just so much cooler then that simple 2 and 4 beat of rock and roll. I started to go back through my favorite rock songs and they were basically just blues shuffles or slow 12/8 grooves. To me that is Blues."I am trying to create a show that feels as good to the audience as I felt at that first Long Beach Blues Festival with Koko Taylor and Buddy Guy and Junior Wells." Says Tony.Blond Lemon Jefferson has had many lives and many great friends and personnel From Dave Rocliff to George Ford from Desiree Granier to Racquel
Roberts. But the vision has always been the same.The name has also had slight variations Blonde or Blond which is predicated on the gender of the singer. This time around Tony is singing so the name is spelled Blond Lemon Jefferson.Tony's intense personality and his years of experience as a working musician make for a highly entertaining live show. He has a great ear for songs and his theatrical back ground gives him an attention to detail that is not always found in local music.
