| PAYOLA es un grupo que se forma principios del año 2001 en México D.F. y pretendemos, más que un grupo de Rock, ser un grupo de músicos que no se limitan en cuanto estilos.
Pensamos que la música es algo universal, que las buenas canciones serán siempre buenas no importando el género o el estilo. Es decir, siempre preocuparnos por hacer musica de calidad sin pensar mucho en seguir una línea.Decidimos llamarnos PAYOLA como una forma de sarcasmo ya que la palabra es el significado que se le da a una tranza o mordida entre las disqueras y las estaciones de radio, en donde las disqueras pagan una fuerte cantidad de dinero para que las estaciones pongan las canciones del artista en cuestión, y además hablen maravillas de éste. Es el típico caso de las canciones que escuchamos todo el dia en la radio hasta que se te pegan y normalmente eso pasa con artistas plasticos.
PAYOLA is a band formed in 2001 in Mexico City. We pretend to be, besides being a rock band, to be a group of musicians who have no limits doing music. We think music is universal, good songs will always be good songs no matter which music genre or style they belong. We..re always being worried about doing music with excellent quality no matter which line we take.We decided to name us PAYOLA as a sarcasm because it means the illegal practice in which Record Companies pay lots of money to radio stations, and the objective is to play all day long songs of artists who belong to those Companies. This practice occur all around the world and even it..s illegal, most of Record Companies prefer to pay millionaire fines for those illegal practices.
