Did you know this about Shannon? ...born March 9th 1970 in Bossier City, Louisiana ...middle name Christopher ...older brother of Jared Leto, also has two half-siblings from fathers second marriage ...…lived a transient childhood with his mother and brother before they settled in a Colorado commune, according to his brother they were food-stamp poor ...got his first set of drums at the age of 8 ...practices on his drums six to seven hours a day ...plays Sonor Drums and uses Sabian cymbals ...doesn't like playing to tape or to a loop, prefers the more organic way of doing things ...also plays the guitar and the piano ...favourite drummers include John Bonham, Stewart Copeland, Keith Moon, Nick Mason and Lars Ulrich ...is a professional photographer ...interests are writing, abstract art, progressive rock and self-interpretation ...played in a jazz band at the age of 12 ...once played in a band called The Wondergirls ...hung out on the set of My So-Called Life so much that he eventually was offered the role as Shane ...played minor parts in the films Highway, Prefontaine and Sol Good ...first band he formed with brother Jared was a "sort of punk" band called the Noise Fucks Said about Shannon: "One of the most inventive drummers I've worked with.
