28 May, 1968 - Kylie Ann Minogue born, Melbourne, Australia.

1987 - Neighbours" becomes highest rating programme in Australia and the UK.

1988 - ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ becomes the biggest selling single in the UK, selling over 675,000 copies. Kylie has the fastest start to a career in Europe – in the States, ‘The Loco-motion’ sells 500,000 copies.

1989 - Kylie films The Delinquents, gets a Madame Tussauds figure, has five singles on the Japanese International charts and releases Enjoy Yourself, which goes double platinum and hits No 1 in the UK. She’s also Smash Hits’ ‘Most Fanciable Female’.

1990 - Kylie takes to the road in U.K., Europe and South East Asia with the Enjoy Yourself Tour before launching her 12th single, ‘Better The Devil You Know’ and her third album, Rhythm Of Love.

1991 - After ‘What Do I Have To Do?’ and ‘Shocked’, Kylie wins over the rock press with fourth album, Let’s Get To It, which goes gold the week of release. NME call it ‘More than great. Exceptional!’

1992 - From ‘Give Me Just A Little More Time’ through to ‘Celebration’, Kylie notches up another hit-packed year, resulting in the massive Greatest Hits album.

1993 - Kylie moves to deConstruction Records and starts working with, St.Etienne, Brothers In Rhythm and M-People on new material and collaborates with Baz Luhrmann for an unprecedented 21-page Vogue spread.

Performs at the Sydney Gay Mardi Gras, releases ‘Confide In Me’ and launches the half-a-million selling Kylie Minogue album while finding time to star in Streetfighter, win three Smash Hits awards and perform for the Prince’s Trust.

1995 - Stars in Hayride to Hell and Bio-Dome, takes in T in the Park and ends the year with the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds duet, ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’

1996 - Further collaborations with Nick Cave and ‘hot female’ nods from Sky and FHM readers.

1997 – Appears in a one off edition of Men Behaving Badly, collaborates further with Nick Cave and launches ‘Some Kind of Bliss’, written with the Manic Street Preachers. She ends the year with Japanese artist Towa Tei sampling her.

1998 - She releases Impossible Princess, wins Best Artist Website for Kylie Ultra, gets a Madame Tussaud's makeover, embarks on a 23-date tour of Australia, takes a lead role in Oz movie Sample People.

1999 - She appears in a Caribbean production of The Tempest, cameos in Cut, signs to Parlophone, releases a collectible art book on the theme of ‘Kylie’, ending the year in East Timor with a concert for the U.N. peace keeping corps.

2000 - ‘Spinning Around takes her back to No.1 in the UK and Australia with the album Light Years from which it was taken bringing her commercial and critical success. She also performs to her biggest audience ever at the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and tickets for her first major tour in nine years sell out immediately.

2001 - ‘Light Years’ goes multi-platinum across the world, she receives the award for ‘Services to Mankind’ at the GQ awards and cameos in Moulin Rouge. She ends the year with the phenomenal success of Fever and the lead single, ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ which made her the most successful female singles artist of the millennium.

2002 - Wins two Brit Awards, an NME Award and Best Selling Australian Artist of The Year at the World Music Awards – even her Agent Provocateur commercial wins one. She also releases the book, La La La.

2003 – Kylie launches her lingerie range in the UK with demand exceeding supply while Kylie appears in the Rambert Dance Company project, “21” and launches the much-anticipated 'Slow', showcasing her ninth album with a Money Can’t Buy’ event at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

2004 - Kylie wins a Grammy for Best Dance Recording, Showgirl, The Greatest Hits Tour is announced, crashing phone lines while LK Legs arrive and ‘I Believe In You’ signals the Greatest Hits, ‘Ultimate Kylie’ and is only held off the number 1 position by Band Aid 20 .

2005 - The Museum of Performing Arts in Melbourne opens a ‘Kylie’ exhibition while her sold out “Showgirl – The Greatest Hits” tour opens to critical acclaim but only days before it’s due to open in Australia, she is diagnosed with breast cancer and forced to postpone the rest of the tour.

2006 - Kylie’s much anticipated children’s book ‘The Showgirl Princess’ is published, the perfume ‘Darling’ arrives and in November Kylie makes an emotional return to the stage to resume her Showgirl Tour, now titled, ‘Showgirl Homecoming Tour.’

2007 - Kylie attends the opening of ‘Kylie – The Exhibition’ at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, H&M feature her in their global summer beachwear campaign, she joins David Tennant to film a Christmas Doctor Who. She celebrates her 20th Anniversary as a recording artist and in November releases X!

The wait if finally over! On 26th November Kylie releases X, her first new studio album in four years. The album, Kylie's 10th, features 13 new tracks and was recorded in London, Stockholm and Ibiza. It features the first new Kylie material since the greatest hits compilation 'Ultimate Kylie' in 2004.
