It is not easy to characterize this all-round gifted 20 year old singer/songwriter. Let's use words like natural, gypsy, bohemian, a hippy muso. But one thing is clear, through her passion for writing, singing and playing instruments, Sarah Reeve definitively catches people with her music a mix of Soul, Jazz, Blues, Reggae and Pop.Sarahs first stage experience was at the age of three and involved song and dance. She commenced formal music training on the piano at the age of five and has also taken extensive lessons in violin, flute, music theory, singing, guitar, dance, drama and musical theatre. She has been writing songs and composing music from the time she was eight.Sarah has competed in regional and Queensland State eisteddfods (Australian competition) in singing, music, original compositions, choirs, dance and acting, as well as national competitions involving acting and singing. She has gained many places in these competitions, and has won overall prizes for several age groups.Whilst at school, Sarah was always heavily involved with the music department; being an active member of choruses, orchestras and bands. She was a member of the local youth theatre from the time she was an eight-year-old, with lead roles in all musical and drama productions. She also performed lead roles in every school musical production and several Sunshine Coast Theatre Productions. Sarah received a Sunshine Coast Theatre Youth Excellence Award for playing the role of Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, with Caloundra Chorale and Theatre Company (July 2003). Other performances include Miss Hannigan in Annie and the role of Katie Brown in Calamity Jane.Sarah has completed high grade A.M.E.B exams in piano, singing, music theory, speech and drama as well as music exams at school and with the Q.L.D Conservatorium of Music and has been performing her original material around the Sunshine Coast for several years at charity concerts, busking and at paid venues such as restaurants and taverns. At her gigs, people may note her quirk: she always performs barefoot at the piano (not really appreciated by her former piano teacher :-)October 2003: Sarah made her first demo CD featuring three original songs with Sarah on vocals, piano, flute and violin. The CD has been played on local radio stations and she performed live on local A.B.C. radio in February, 2004 with three original compositions being performed.2005: Sarah commenced a three year Bachelor of Popular Music Degree with the QLD Conservatorium of Music. As part of her music degree, she produced another demo CD in the Conservatorium recording studios. This is particularly impressive since she did the entire production herself and was only 17 at the time. Her song Dont Steal the Shame has been played on local commercial radio stations numerous times.New Years Eve 2005: Sarah Reeve sprained her ankle but her misfortune was quickly transformed into a blessing when she devoted her recovery time to setting up a MySpace Music website. The Internet site contained three of her demo songs, and proved to be the catalyst for a wave of music management offers worldwide. And so Sarah was heard on the other side of the world too: Switzerland. The company oliver m.anagement specialized in developing and globally promoting newcomer artists, penned a deal with Sarah in May 2006 (also included is a deal with the affiliated music label oliver m.usic inc., USA). In June 2006 Sarah made her first journey to Europe for professional recording sessions, photo shoot, TV performances, gigs etc. And this is just the beginning of a long-run step-by-step development of this truly unique artist.HEY CHECK OUT MY AMAZING FRIENDS JAQUIE AND ELA!!
