NEW CD TO BE RELEASED FALL 2007: Dave Turner's piano rock has flavors of pop, Americana, country, jazz and blues, and sometimes a sprinkling of gospel. He delivers strong melodies and soul-searching lyrics with a powerful voice. Home is Asheville, N.C. His latest CD (fall 2007) is Could Have Talked All Night , with 12 songs recorded live in-studio on May 23, 2007 at Collapseable Recording Studio in Asheville, NC. The record features Dave on piano and vocal, Stephanie Morgan on vocal, Michael Libramento on bass and Joe Buzzelli on drums. He released his first full-length CD, Stories That Are True , in 2004. This album is a piano-vocal solo release featuring 14 songs. It was recorded in November 2003 by Joseph Nilo of Nilo Creative in Asheville, NC. Quick stats
Born Duluth, MN, 1961 Grew up in Asheville, NC, 1968-1980 Graduate, University of South Carolina, BA in Journalism Lived in Atlanta from 1985-1998 Lives in Asheville, NC, with his wife and three children Has worked as a dishwasher, delivery man, landscaper, shoe salesman, tape duplicator, carpenter, journalist, advertising copywriter, editor, author, pianist, singer-songwriter, soundman Returned to Asheville in 1998 to pursue music performance, songwriting and other creative endeavors Discography: "Five Songs" EP (2000), "Live at Karmasonics, Vol. 1," featuring various artists (2003, Karmasonics Records), "Stories That Are True" CD (2004), "Could Have Talked All Night" CD (due fall 2007) Currently in my Top Friends list: Seven of the eight that you see are part of my new album. Chuck Lichtenberger and Stephanie Morgan of Stephanie's Id (Chuck is my teacher and advised me throughout the project, Stephanie performed backing vocals). Joe Buzzelli played drums. Michael Libramento played bass. The project was recorded and mixed by Jeff Knorr at Collapseable Recording Studio. Seva at Soundcurrent did the mastering.
