| real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools How I made my profile: I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .ENGLISH---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------- La Via Veneto Jazz was created in 1993, by chance, it was a lucky encounter between the producer Biagio Pagano and other musicians and phonics, they were all united by the same motivation to emphasize the work and music of many composers which were not known by the insiders of the music industry. When it all started the artistic project wasn't clear, but in time the evolution became transparent, to produce Italian Jazz, the one that was more commercial and less difficult with a Mediterranean sound, which would eventually develop in the international language of Jazz, but keeping our traditional melody and music. The first productions were characterized by very well known international musicians, it was a real musical interchange, it was dialogue that would take place from original compositions, a collaboration that would build in time even with concerts and publications of records. The more the project was becoming clear the less interest was shown by majors of the record companies together with media and shops, it was clear that “Italian jazz” wasn't taken seriously, this was due to the over evaluation of records which probably did not deserve. This obviously made us step in a different direction, we concentrated on the project and the quality, taking us abroad, where a lot of our musicians are well known, like: Roberto Gatto, Stefano di Battista, Danilo Rea, Stefano bollani, Fabrizio Grosso etc. It was fundamental the signing with a distributor for Via Veneto Jazz with RCA records and then EMI, that would guarantee a vast territorial distribution and also gave VVJ the right investment that only a proper partnership can give, bringing VVJ to interact with sacred figures of the discographic world with professional dignity from everyone recognized. From this many important prizes were given to VVJ, like:(VVJ 016-The tales of Doctor 3 “best Italian album,VVJ 021-Bollani “best new talent”,VVJ 023-Shades of Chet “best Italian album”, Doctor 3 -2001/2003 “best Italian band,etc.) They also discovered talents like Sergio Cammariere that would remain in time and brought him to the big public. This all due to Biagio Pagano, not only talent scout but also founder of the label. Unfortunately on the 28 September 2004 Biagio Pagano left this life, leaving his brother Matteo Pagano in charge of the Label, even if he was already working with him. He left him his prestigious catalogue of artist and the same mission to accomplish. Today VVJ is ready to keep present and future with renewed vigour, aiming and confirming the Italian market and trying to expand in the rest of the world with their product of quality of, ETICHETTA DI MUSICA JAZZ ITALIANA, through well framed international partnership.ITALIANO---------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------La Via Veneto Jazz nasce nel 1993, quasi per caso, dall'incontro fortuito del produttore Biagio Pagano con alcuni musicisti e alcuni fonici uniti dall'esigenza comune di voler valorizzare il lavoro e la musica di molti musicisti e compositori per lo più sconosciuti fuori dell'ambiente degli addetti ai lavori. Inizialmente non c'era quella progettualità artistica che poi nel tempo si è via via delineata: produrre jazz italiano, quello più sentito, meno cervellotico, che avesse sapore e suono mediterraneo, che sviluppasse attraverso il linguaggio internazionale del jazz dei contenuti e una melodia che attingessero alla nostra tradizione musicale. Le prime produzioni si caratterizzarono con partecipazioni di musicisti di grande spessore internazionale, cercando di creare non una partecipazione mercenaria ma un vero interscambio musicale, un dialogo che avveniva su composizioni originali, una collaborazione che cresceva nel tempo anche con concerti che seguivano la pubblicazione dei dischi. Man mano che si lavorava si faceva sempre più chiara la scarsa attenzione che il mondo discografico, dalle major alla stampa ai negozi di dischi, davano a tutto il settore "jazz italiano" in generale; questo dovuto anche, ma non solo, ad una sovrapproduzione di dischi che a volte non sono di qualità competitiva e con una scarsa forza progettuale. Queste considerazioni ci hanno spinto ad affrontare le nuove produzioni con un criterio che guardi oltre la qualità della musica e della registrazione, la forza del progetto, l'originalità che ogni disco deve avere per poterlo affermare in Italia come ora più che mai all'estero, dove stanno ottenendo dei grossi risultati alcuni musicisti italiani come Roberto Gatto ,Stefano Di Battista, Danilo Rea, Stefano Bollani, Fabrizio Bosso, ecc. Fondamentale è stato chiudere un accordo di distribuzione della Via Veneto Jazz con la RCA VICTOR prima, e con la EMI poi, che avrebbe garantito una copertura distributiva capillare sul territorio, e che ha dato alla VVJ quello spessore e quell’investitura che solo l’inizio di una partnership con tali interlocutori può dare, portando la VVJ ad interagire con figure sacre e storiche del mondo del business discografico con una dignità e professionalità da tutti riconosciuta.. Questo passaggio viene confermato e sigillato anche da vari premi che le produzioni della VVJ cominciano a collezionare negli anni successivi (VVJ 016-The tales of Doctor 3 “miglior disco Italiano,VVJ 021-Bollani “Miglior nuovo talento”,VVJ 023-Shades of Chet “miglior disco Italiano”, Doctor 3 -2001/2003 “miglior gruppo Italiano,ecc.), e da scoperte di nuove formazioni che perdurano nel tempo, e che testimoniano l’altissima qualità dei progetti stessi e del carisma di talent scout del fondatore dell’etichetta. Non ultimo, la VVJ è orgogliosa di annoverare tra le sue scoperte, un artista come SERGIO CAMMARIERE, che grazie all’intuito di Biagio Pagano è riuscito a portare all’attenzione di un vasto pubblico il suo splendido talento naturale. Purtroppo il 28 settembre 2004 Biagio Pagano lascia questa vita, lasciando la guida dell’etichetta al fratello Matteo Pagano che già lavorava con lui, ed un impegno a lavorare un catalogo che dà prestigio sia a chi lavora per esso , sia agli artisti che ne fanno parte, ma soprattutto la missione che l’aveva spinto ad iniziare. Oggi la VVJ vuole affrontare le sfide presenti e future con rinnovato vigore ,puntando a confermare in Italia e ad ampliare nel resto del mondo la sua presenza e la sua indiscussa attività qualitativa di ETICHETTA DI MUSICA JAZZ ITALIANA, attraverso la strutturazione di partnership internazionali. |
