CHECK BACK EVERY WEEK FOR UPDATES AND KEEP IN TOUCH "AXSON -The Metal You Remember-. the band is no novelty or nostalgia act- even if they go onstage with leather pants and wrist bands so loaded with hardware they'd set off airport metal detectors from miles away"-the observer "since the band is old enough to be the sons of the original metalheads, you could just think of them as musical Vikings-- Sons of the Axe"-the observer "the best upcoming band in Albuquerque"- Albuquerque weekly alibi 2006 "With a strong technical performance, Axson was one of the best musically, but it was their stage presence that put them over the top. The band members employ engaging interaction with eachother and with the audience as well as non-stop movement that energizes the audience."-the observer "AXSON won the battle of the bands overall in large part thanks to stage presence"-the observer AXSON is a rock/metal band that originated in Los Lunas, New Mexico. AXSON loves a fast ride, good times, and ROCK 'N' ROLL!!!!!!! AXSON takes their influence from all the kick-ass metal and rock bands from the 1970’s and 89’s. These awesome influences range from the head splitting metal of Judas Priest, to the catchy, well structured and hit hard rock songs of sound of Whitesnake, to the notoriously rebel-bound band Motley Crue. When AXSON is not partying, they’re improving upon their individual talents and skills, while still taking time crank out some kick ass rock songs. The band started out with just two members...Bryant Gifford on drums and Sergio Gutierrez on guitar. SERGIO---“We started from scratch not knowing what the hell we were doin or where we would go musically, but as time went on, we recruited a couple more members: Brandon Ruckus on rhythm/lead guitar and Michael Storms on bass. We wrote one instrumental song with this first lineup that really got us going. It was the audience at a performing arts school we played at back in December 2004 that made us strive for more. We continued tryin to make music, but the bass player wasn't workin out for us so we got in touch with an awesome, badass bassist: Andres Barela.” Just after the 2 year mark of AXSON’S musical rampage Andres decided to leave AXSON to pursue his other interest of motorcycles and move up the ladder with his new well-paying job. Not long after Andres’s departure, AXSON decided to pack their gear, and start a new life in California. The remaining 3 members; Brandon, Bryant and Sergio finally meet up in April 2007 in Oceanside, CA. The three began living together, practicing in a nearby rented studio, and undertook the WIDE search for a new bass player. With many attempts to find a new member, a tightly rehearsed set, and anxious feelings of being on stage again the band jumped at the opportunity to play on stage at the world famous “Whiskey A Go Go” in Hollywood, CA. Brandon mentioned the upcoming show to his guitar instructor at the time, and with a quick answer of “HELL YEAH!” JESS REED quickly became a temporary member of AXSON’s rhythm section on the bass guitar. AXSON has since rocked the stage at the Whiskey numerous times, and made a great name and positive reputation as a well rehearsed and explosive performance on the Sunset Strip.
