Born in Naples december 2th 1962, in 1984 she made her debut with Renzo Arbore as a leading character of the film F.F.S.S, singing "SUD" - by Arbore and Mattone - RCA 1984.

In 1985 she starred in "LA CIORTA DI FELICIELLO" directed by Mario Franco.

In 1986 she partecipated at the International Tour "PANE E ROSE" with Angelo Branduardi, by singing three songs.

In 1987 she is part again in Eugenio Bennato's music work "ACQUA ACQUA - FUOCO FUOCO".

In 1988 she performed in the film "CAVALLI SI NASCE" directed by Sergio Staino.

In 1989 she is again in Eugenio Bennato's work A "SUD DI MOZART" directed by Bruno Colella.

In 1991 her first album "SEGNORITA" come out. It has been written for her by Eduoardo and Eugenio Bennato, this album made her noticed by the promoters of the Tenco Prize. They sent her to Verona for the "Rassegna della canzone d'autrice" at the end of august 1991. In this occasion, her straordinary capacities of interpreter have conquered the public and the critic, what put her among the winners of the manifestation.

The continuation is even more prestigious : indeed, at the end of october 1991, Pietra is invited to partecipate at the final evening of the Luigi Tenco Prize , where she got the recompense for the Best interpreter of the year. And on stage, singing some pieces of the album "SEGNORITA", she dominates an another time the show with her instinctive and magnetic force.

In 1992 she took part in the XXth edition of the Festival of Sanremo with Peppino di Capri by singing "FAVOLA BLUES".

In 1993 her second album collection "VOCE DI PIETRA" , by varied authors, was published at the editions RTM.

In 1994 she has the main role in the TV film "DUE MADRI PER ROCCO", under the direction of the brothers Frazzi.

In 1995 she partecipated with Peppe Barra in the play "LA CANTATA DEI PASTORI" directed by Beppe Barra.

In 1996 she sang in the show "MALAMUSIK" directed by Eugenio Bennato.

In 1998 she sang again with Eugenio Bennato, in the show "MALANAPOLI", by singing classic songs as "OI VITA MIA", "O SOLE MIO" and "MALAFEMMENA" and also songs of the 80's, of Nino D'Angelo, Pino Daniele and Almamegretta.

In 1999 she directed her first show "NEAPOLITAN TANGO": a real recital, sanguine and poetic at the same time, which joined Naples to Buenos Aires thanks to sounds and moods able to annihilate the ooceanic distance, just like between Italy and Argentina, in order to finally astonish her audience, with the extrraordinary homogeneity of the kind of cosmopolitan compositions and arrangements that distinguish the show.

CONCERTS : South America, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Verona (Festival of the feminine songwriters with international casting). Participation with Nina Simone, Mercedes Sosa, Ute Lemper (Mystery of the bulgarian voices).

Nata a Napoli il 2/12/1962 esordisce al fianco di Renzo Arbore come protagonista nel film F.F.S.S., diretto da R. Arbore, nel quale interpretò la famosissima canzone "SUD" - di Arbore e Mattone - RCA 1984.

Nell' 85 interpreta, sempre come protagonista, il film tv "LA CIORTA DI FELICIELLO" con la regia di Mario Franco.

Nel 1986 partecipa al fianco di Angelo Branduardi al Tour International del disco "PANE E ROSE" nel quale interpreta tre brani.

Nel 1988 la ritroviamo come attrice protagonista nel film "CAVALLI SI NASCE" regia di Sergio Staino.

Nel 1989 è di nuovo interprete di un'opera musicale di Eugenio Bennato, " A SUD DI MOZART" regia di Bruno Colella.

Nel 1991 esce il suo primo album "SEGNORITA" scritto per lei dai fratelli Edoardo ed Eugenio Bennato;la qualità del disco "pensato" apposta per lei, segnala Pietra agli organizzatori del Premio Tenco che la chiamano, alla fine dell'agosto 1991, alla "Rassegna della canzone d'autrice" a Verona.

In questa occasione, le sue straordinarie doti di interprete conquistano il pubblico e i critici presenti, che la collocano tra le trionfatrici della manifestazione.
Il seguito è ancor più prestigioso: infatti, alla fine di ottobre, Pietra viene invitata alla serata finale del Premio Tenco 1991, dove riceve la targa quale "miglior interprete dell'anno". E sul palcoscenico, cantando alcuni brani dell'album "Segnorita", ancora una volta domina la platea con la sua forza istintiva e magnetica.

Nel 1992 partecipa al FESTIVAL DI SANREMO, in coppia con Peppino di Capri, cantando "FAVOLA BLUES".

Nel 1993 viene pubblicato il suo secondo album "VOCE DI PIETRA" di autori vari; ED. RTM.

Nel 1995 è invece al fianco di PEPPE BARRA come protagonista nell'opera teatrale "LA CANTATA DEI PASTORI" regia di Peppe Barra.

Nel 1996 la ritroviamo nell'originale spettacolo "MALAMUSIK" regia di Eugenio Bennato, con cui Pietra approda alla contemporanea musica napoletana dei vicoli, la Malamusik dei nostri giorni.

Nel 1998 la ritroviamo impegnata nel progetto, sempre di Eugenio Bennato, "MALANAPOLI", in cui convivono brani del repertorio classico napoletano, quali "Oi vita mia", "O' sole mio" e "Malafemmena" e brani popolari di interpreti contemporanei a partire dagli anni '80, incluso Nino D'Angelo, Pino Daniele e gli Almamegretta.

Nel 1999 monta il suo primo spettacolo interamente ideato e diretto da lei "Neapolitan Tango": un recital vero, sanguigno e al tempo stesso poetico, che traccia l'asse Napoli Buenos Aires ripercorrendo la migliore espressione musicale del Novecento (depositaria di antiche culture), attraverso suoni ed umori capaci di azzerare distanze oceaniche - come appunto quella tra l'Italia e l'Argentina - per poi stupire l'ascoltatore con la straordinaria omogeneità degli stilemi cosmopositivo-arrangiamenti che caratterizzano lo spettacolo.
