| Tyler's Free-Pour Latte! Being a self-proclaimed marketing "guru" I try to summarize things in memorable tag lines. But what do people think as they walk away from an encounter with me? What's the tag line for my life? tag-line n.: A slogan or phrase that conveys the most important product attribute or benefit that the advertiser wishes to convey. Generally, a theme to a campaign. Let's see: TYLER GEEL: God follower. World traveler. Espresso addict. Or perhaps: TYLER GEEL: Brother. Son. Best Friend. Family Pet. Or maybe: TYLER GEEL: Theatre enthusiast. Art admirer. Music fanatic. Or: TYLER GEEL: Tight wad. White bod. Or my favorite: TYLER GEEL: Sings just like Harry Connick Jr. and dances better than the Backstreet Boys. (Long story...ask me sometime.) Oh well. I tried. Anyway, after traveling for years with musical theatre, I've finally settled down in one place. Portland, Oregon has finally signed the adoption papers, stealing me from Washington DC and the East Coast. I'm now an Oregonian...just ask my driver's license. The past few months have seen much life transition. After struggling through a summer unemployed on a new side of the country, a thought occurred: Why not pursue your dream, Tyler? So here I am, going into business with my best friends to open a coffeeshop. We've got a formed business plan, a fantastic coffee supplier, an amazing investor, and a mug full of anticipation...no, make that GALLONS of anticipation. The name's INSOMNIA COFFEE...clever, eh? Our open date is scheduled for APRIL of 2007 and we're actively piecing all the details together. Imagine this: a quaint storefront in Hillsboro (a burb of Portland), open late nights, free Wi-fi, live music weekends, community oriented, children's reading hour and all the specialty coffee and tea you can swallow...and that's just a snapshot. We'll specialize in "Freepour Latte Art": the perfect preparation and combination of espresso shot and steamed milk, acheiving an art form in the foam. Believe me, it's unbelievable!
