About Me

http://www.rambles.net

Don't let the MySpace warning page scare you; it comes up whenever you follow a link to a non-MySpace page. There's nothing on the Rambles.NET site that will harm you or your computer!!

Rambles.NET is your best source on the web for reviews of folk, roots & traditional music, plus speculative fiction, folklore, graphic novels, concerts, movies and more. Drop by http://www.rambles.net for more than 11,111 reviews and interviews for your enjoyment!
Unlike so many Internet blog sites, where you have one or maybe a handful of people voicing their opinions, Rambles.NET has more than 200 contributing writers from all over the world critiquing a wide variety of music, books and films.
Tom Knapp runs the show from his cramped, yet expansive central office in southcentral Pennsylvania. If you have any questions or comments, drop Tom a line!

Keep up to date!
New reviews -- usually two dozen or more -- are added weekly. And once they're up, they stay up ... so people might discover the merits of your work tomorrow or five years from now. So don't just hang around here ... go to Rambles.NET and see what's new on a regular basis!

Don't be shy:
Get yourself reviewed!
Do you have a book or CD to share? Contact us about getting it reviewed! Don't put it off, because the sooner your packet gets to us, the sooner we can tell the rest of the Web about it!
You can find the mailing address for Rambles.NET right here .
But please, don't offer to e-mail us your novel or sound clips from your upcoming CD. We are hidebound and curmudgeonly traditionalists who are old-fashioned enough to want to hold a book in our hands and play CDs on our very own stereos. Besides, it helps to keep the U.S. Post Office in business!
Also, please realize that books and CDs come through our doors in endless waves. So, while we do our best to give a fair shake to everything we receive, we cannot guarantee a review on each and every item. Don't take it personally, there are simply limits to our time.

Don't be shy:
Become a reviewer!
Also, if you like to express your opinions and have the gift of eloquence -- or, at least, of expressing yourself clearly and well -- consider joining the Rambles.NET team. We can always use more talented writers!
In fact, we desperately need a few! AsI mentioned above, books and CDs are coming through our doors with tsunami-like force, so if you have any interest in writing reviews, drop us a line and let's chat about your interests!

My Interests

The creative arts, of course!
Copy www.rambles.net into your browser and explore thouands of musical, literary and cinematic offerings, all crafted by hand by our skilled reviewing team to ensure you have the most entertaining and informative reviews at your fingertips.
BE sure to bookmark the site, because Rambles.NET is updated each week with two dozen or more fresh reviews.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who has their creative side to share, or is interesting in reviewing the creative outlets of others.

Television:

Not so much. These days, our editor is catching up on the first two seasons of Bones, How I Met Your Mother and My Name is Earl, as well as the full run of Scrubs. Also, having been given a very hearty recommendation, he's giving Veronica Mars a try.
He still misses Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The X-Files.
New guilty pleasure: season one of Heroes.

Books:

So many! Reading is fundamental, and there just isn't enough time in the day.
Charles de Lint and Neil Gaiman are certainly worth checking out, as are the likes of Christopher Moore, Terri Windling, Emma Bull, Holly Black, Tom Dorsey, Chet Williamson, Carl Hiaasen, Tom Holt, Patrick O'Brian, Kage Baker, L.A. Meyer, Terry Pratchett and so very many more....!

You can find our fiction reviews right here .

And all other book reviews (including folklore, pop culture, art, nonfiction and more) are right here .
Sit a spell and browse our collections! Chances are, you'll find something good to read.

Heroes:

Kudos go out to all of the musicians, writers, artists, filmmakers and other creative sorts who are bold enough to put their work out on the public forum to enrich our lives and make our days on this Earth a little more thrilling!
