Welcome to the RisingTribe Band's Myspace Homepage. All songs are written by singer/songwriter Tiffany Gassett. Tiffany has been playing and writing music for more than a decade, beginning in the Virgin Islands, where she was raised. She moved to Massachusetts where she organized and played benefit concerts in college. She began working on her debut solo album in January of 2007 (it is due out in the spring of 2008). It was while working on this album that she met accomplished drummer Joe Willis , guitarist and banjo player John Rawlings and bass player Brian Silver. With them she formed Rising Tribe. In winter 2008 she began working with gifted mandolin and fiddle player Greg Allison. Rising Tribe is an unusual blending of Celtic Folk Rock, Country, Island Reggae, and Calypso. Her Irish heritage comes through in the haunting melodies of her original music. The band will begin recording their own album this summer. |
