| Retrofuturist rebel Maxx Klaxon is taking his music to the masses. Based at a secure, undisclosed location in New York City, he combines sensual synths, robotic vocoders, and hard beats with a satirical take on love, sex and politics. Comrade Klaxon has fused the stimuli of his youth -- analog electronics, sci-fi TV, and clattering drum machines -- into a sharp and sweet pop synthesis. Now he’s out to liberate (and dominate) the globe, with his sonic and rhythmic mind control. Maxx’s music draws on many sources: the precision of Kraftwerk, the dark poetics of Leonard Cohen, the wit and style of the Pet Shop Boys, the nervous energy of Adult. and Ladytron. He adds in Italo-disco grace notes, and some old-school electro-bass bounce to keep the people moving. The result is seductive and subversive pop -- a soundtrack for the clash of civilizations.
