| Singer/Songwriter Irmie Vesselsky was born on May 27th 1984 in a hamlet in Lower Austria. Having no musical education Irmie discovered music at a very early age as the most natural way means not only entertaining herself or maybe others but also expressing her innermost feelings. Afraid of teachers and tired of playing innumeral sheets exactly the way they were written, she preferred to interpret classical music like she felt it should be played instead; soon she started to write her own songs out of emotional situations. Never intending to go on stage it happened in 2003 that she was asked to form the girl duo „Sweet Seduction“. First Irmie didn’t (want to) sing, she only accompanied the other girl on the piano or the guitar. In spite of being rather shy in front of an audience, it didn’t take long for Irmie to "find her own voice" and to realize that the stage was her home. Performing in local bars was fun, but playing cover songs only was not enough for Irmie – and she embarked developing her own style. So the girls decided to split. The audience soon asked for her own material so Irmie started to go on stage solo in 2005, including shows together with authors as well as doing charity concerts. In 2006 her success was crowned with the local "award4you" for her emotional song „Alcatraz“. The term "Alcatraz" was used as used as a metaphor for being imprisoned in your own body as well as in honor of the bird Alcatraz, which has a very close relationship to the air and the sea, diving into the sea to assuage its hunger as well as to die when it feels it’s time to. On stage, Irmie usually uses two instruments to tell her stories - the piano and her voice, feeling that „neither could exist without the other“. Her intimate, autobiographic lyrics are sometimes very plain-spoken, then again purposely encrypted.
