DANY ROCK - English Since always I’ve surrounded myself within music. Music has been my strength to move and my voice to speak. I started playing piano and later, I dedicated entirely to the guitar. By the beginning of the 90..s, I took part of several Colombian rock bands that lead me to find rhythms that allowed me to express freely. I ended up fully involved in the Punk and NY Hard Core music. Fast rhythms, dense moods, rending sounds, “in your face” sounds! By that time, I founded and played in Ataque en Contra and later in De Frente. By the end of 1.999, I decide to put aside the guitar to dedicate entirely to the turntables and explore through them, all the possibilities within electronic music. My obvious start point was an Electro – Electro Clash sound. I began playing at small underground parties in Bogotá under the alias of ATOMIC. From there, I spent some years playing in different clubs and parties, improving my sound and defining it. By then, I started getting into Techno, fusing it with my Electro basis. This allowed me to liberate my mixes, structuring them my way! Is in 2.003, that I consolidate a cutting edge Techno style; to which I add different elements from the Electro and Rock music. In 2.004 I open the Sub Royal Club; where I had a residency for over a year. Moving on, in 2.005 and 2.006, my career as a Dj took me playing around Colombia in places like Cartagena, Pereira, Medellín and Bogotá. Gaining experience and feeding from new sounds. Now, I find myself working in a few own productions which I hope to release by the end of 2.007. Besides that, playing, playing and playing!!! “I define my style as a Fat Bass moving sound ranging from Deep Minimal Electro to Funky Techno.” DANY ROCK - Español Desde siempre me e rodeado de música. Ha sido mi fuerza para moverme y mi voz para expresarme. Comencé tocando el piano y más tarde me dediqué de lleno a la guitarra. Formé parte de bandas de rock Colombianas de principios de los 90 que me llevaron a encontrar ritmos que me permitieran expresarme libremente. Terminé involucrándome de lleno con el Punk y el NY Hard Core. Ritmos rápidos, densos, sonidos desgarradores, mensajes “en tu cara”. Fundé y toqué en Ataque en Contra y más tarde en De Frente. A finales de 1.999, decido dejar la guitarra para dedicarme a los tornamesas y explorar por medio de ellos, todas las posibilidades de la música electrónica. Mi punto de partida obvio fue un sonido Electro – Electro Clash. Comienzo tocando en pequeñas fiestas en Bogotá de corte underground bajo el seudónimo de ATOMIC. De ahí, pasaron algunos años tocando en distintos clubes y fiestas, puliendo mi sonido y definiéndolo. Para entonces, comienzo a incursionar en el Techno y fusionarlo a mi estilo Electro. Esto me permitió liberar mis mezclas, estructurarlas a mi manera! Para finales del 2.003, cuando toco en el festival de Resistencia Análoga – Ultrabass, consolido mi estilo Techno limpio y contundente, al cual agrego distintos elementos del Electro y el Rock como tal. En el 2.004 fundé el club Sub Royal del cual fui residente durante ese año. Para el 2.005 y el 2006, mi carrera como Dj me lleva alrededor de Colombia a tocar en Cartagena, Pereira, Medellín, y Bogotá. Acumulando experiencia y alimentándome de nuevos sonidos. Ahora, me encuentro trabajando en un par de producciones propias que espero lanzar al final del 2007, y tocando, tocando y tocando!!!! “Defino mi estilo en un sonido Fat Bass donde exploro desde un Deep Minimal Electro hasta un Funky Techno.” |
