Gianna Knight is every good’s girl bad side. Tough and daring, she’s empowered with a sexiness that comes naturally. Under producer Kenny Cash’s creative guidance, Gianna delivers her own personal brand of edgy pop. Inspired by Madonna, ’80s dance, and divas like Donna Summer, Gianna bridges the gap between modern hip-hop, dance, rock, and club pop.

What makes Gianna so unique in a world of wannabe stars is that she actively partakes in every ounce of the creative process. From writing her own lyrics and melodies to seeking out various producers and collaborations, she’s a true artist in every sense of the word. As a singer and songwriter, she’s recorded in various studios with a range of producers, sometimes adding her vocals to their hooks. Her forthcoming debut album will feature tracks by D-Block’s in-house producer Vinny Idol, Tampa-based Phyngahz, and the legendary Supa Dave, who has worked with everyone from Hi-Five to Mary J. Blige to Vanilla Ice.

A native New Yorker, Gianna comes from an eccentric family of musicians and artists: her father a jazz keyboardist, her sister a music journalist and creative writer, and her grandmother an operatic singer, who performed at Carnegie Hall when she was just seventeen. Though Gianna wasn’t exactly bred to be a star, she sang and performed her way through childhood and adolescence, honing her skills through vocal training, constant writing, live shows, musical exploration, and home-recording her own tracks and demo tapes.

Now well on her way to stardom, this brunette’s natural beauty only adds to her emotionally driven voice, teeming with experience, ambition, and passion.

Though she’s fully dedicated to music, Gianna can boast a beauty and brains combo; she is simultaneously pursuing a degree in chemical engineering at Manhattan College, where she is at the top of her class.

Gianna’s talent and dedication is undeniable; though backed by digital and organic beats and instruments on her latest tracks, her voice can stand alone, unaltered, in a quiet room. Backed now by a full sound, Gianna’s songs and personal lyrics reveal different sides to her overall personality. Featuring a Godfather-esque hook, which heralds her Italian-American roots, “Because I Can,” is liberated and strong, opening with the line, “Let me make this clear from the start, I don’t owe these girls anything.” The harmonious “Goodbye Is A Necessity” is gentle and sweet, exposing Gianna’s more vulnerable side, while Secret” is downright addictive, with provocative lyrics and vibrant vocals that move from hushed to absolutely commanding.

As a mature and artistically conscious performer, Gianna is the star to keep your eyes locked on.
